Motorola BPR 40 will transmit, but not receive through the microphone. Works fine as a handheld

You may have one of three problems: Your audio accessory jack is bad, you are using the wrong mic for the radio, or your mic is bad. Try the mic on a known good BPR40 and if it test good, if so, your BPR40 with the problem needs a new audio accessory jack. (Repair is available for this model.) We have found the BPR40 will only work properly with the remote speaker mic designed for it, despite some other Motorola mics appearing to fit the jack. Construction grade mic PMMN4013 is a good option, as is the lightweight PMMN4077.

What do the buttons on the bpr 40 do?

Both buttons have a short and a long press function. The button right below the PTT button is typically programmed to short press Monitor, long press Sticky Monitor. The bottom button comes from the factory on scan/nuisance channel delete. The buttons can be custom programmed when the dealer is programming the radio, so these are just a general guess based on the factory default setting. Other options include repeater talkaround, high/low power, volume set, and maybe tight loose squelch.

My bpr 40 all time have a green light on in a scan mode how i can block the scan mode

In order for your radio to scan, it would need one of the side buttons programmed to scan. Usually the top side button is programmed for monitor/sticky monitor, and the bottom button can be programmed to any of a number of features, one of them being scan. These buttons have both a long press selection and a short press selection. All this being said, it is possible the bottom button is programmed for scan. Try pressing it a short press and/or a long press and see if it shuts off your scan. To remove scan completely from your radio it would need ot be reprogrammed by an authorized Motorola dealer.

We purchasedn 3 bpr 40 and we justed ordered another, when we turn the bpr on to the channel of the 3 others that are in use, we just get a low continual tone, i tried a radio check on channel 1 with no...

Your new radio is likely not programmed the same as the others. A continual tone indicates a channel which is not programmed (doesn't have a frequency installed).

The other thing which can cause a tone, is a low or uncharged battery. You might try switching one of the known good batteries to the new radio to see if it will work. If you still have the same continual tone with a known good battery installed, you have a programming issue. If the battery swap solves the problem, then you need to investigate why your battery isn't charged up.

Either way, contact the dealer where you purchased the BPR40, they should provide programming free, or a warranty replacement battery for free. If you ordered online or by mail, and you just received the radio within the week, you should request they provide return shipping for you.

Bought a used Motorloa Mag One BPR40 at a tag sale and then bought a new one. The used one looks like it was used by a business so it was probably "programmed." How do i get the two BPR's...

Your radios will need to be programmed by a Motorola dealer. The software used to program the radios is a Motorola proprietary software and not for sale, but most dealers have a subscription to it.

The loud buzzing indicates the channel you are on is not programmed.

Just got a Mag One BPR battery delivered to me and i put it on the charger. After about an hour the green light is on. I thought the battery needed to be charged for 8 hours the first time? Why the green...

The charger which comes with the BPR40 is a rapid charger. (The book doesn't indicate if it is a 90 min. or 3 hour charger.) None-the-less, your battery is fine. When your charger is displaying green it will continue to trickle (slow) charge the battery to keep it topped off, so to speak. The first 3 charge cycles you should leave the battery on the charger the full recommended time. On most Motorola radios it is 10-12 hours. This will assure your battery is charged to full capacity and initiated properly. In most cases, your traditional charging of the radio should be overnight. When you go to bed, put the radio to bed on the charger.

FYI: All batteries come from the factory with some charge in them. It is a small test charge to assure the battery's funcationality.

If for some reason after the first week or so, you think your battery or charger is not functioning properly, contact the dealer where you purchased the unit. They can replace it under warranty.

Best regards.
