I tried to hook up my dvd player and i get picture but no sound. when i put the cords in the back of the monitor there is yellow red blue green holes no white spot. Do i need different cords. I have tried...

That could be a result to that TV either not having the ports you need, or you may need different cords. On my TV. With the 360 they have two cords. Red,white, and yellow and also green blue and i think red but im not 100% sure. You may need to find a different port on your TV for your cords, or do what I do and have your VCR hooked up to your tv, and your DvD player hooked up thorugh your VCR. Hope this helps and don't forget to rate ^^
(and yes that yellow and white are a necessity)

My monitor display keeps randomly flashing light to dark

Don't always go by what diagnostics tell you because all it basically checks for is to see if it recognizes the devices. My advice would be to hook up a different known good working monitor to the computer and see if still goes dim on you.

If a different monitor is going dim on you intermittenly then you know for sure at that point its not the monitor and it would have to be the video card.

Try that and let me know how that goes. Keep in mind that video cards sometimes go bad and they go bad by overheating.

Monitors can go bad cause of bad capacitors which is why im suggesting don't always go by what the computer is telling you.

Hp w2207h computer monitor problems

You will probably have to repackage and resend the monitor back for repair. sounds like a manufacturing mistake or bug.

Instructions for hooking up a new monitor

if you attach correctly all the connections then nothing to worry about. if you just follow all the instructions carefully and correctly then set back and relax... okay...

You will need a TV Tuner expansion card for your computer. If you buy a TV Tuner expansion card and install it, and connect an antenna or cable TV cable, you will be able to watch TV shows on your computer monitor while using your computer. With some TV tuner cards, you can also record TV for watching it later, or even hook up your VCR and record VHS tapes and home videos to put on DVD. This is a more complicated topic and instructions should come with the TV Tuner expansion card you purchase.

TV tuner cards usually run in the range of $20-75 and will fit in most computers. You can buy them online and at computer or electronics stores. Installation is fairly simple and the instructions and software are included (unless you buy a used one)

Good luck!
