It turns off when I want to take a picture.

If Try one or more of the following

Ready light does not turn on and the camera does not work.

• Turn on the camera (Turning on the camera).

• Install new batteries (Loading the battery) or charge rechargeable batteries.

• Turn camera off, then back on.

Ready light blinks green.

• Camera is operating normally.

Ready light blinks amber.

• Wait. Resume picture taking when the light stops blinking and turns green.

Ready light blinks red and camera turns off.

• Install new batteries (Loading the battery) or charge rechargeable batteries.

Ready light glows steady red.

• Transfer pictures to the computer (Transferring pictures with the USB cable), delete pictures from the camera (Deleting pictures/videos), switch image storage locations (), or insert a card with available memory (Using an optional SD/SDHC or MMC card).

• Wait. Resume picture taking when the light turns green.

• Change the image storage location to internal memory (), or use a different card.

Ready light is off or glows steady green.

• Camera is operating normally

1. Turn PC on.
2. Plug camera cable into Camera.
3. Plug camera cable USB end into computer USB port.
4. Turn on Camera... wait until camera show message 'USB, PC, Pictbridge'.
5. PC should be selected if not select by highlighting and press shutter button.
6. Press 'Shutter' button.
7. Window 'Autoplay' appears on PC. Select 'import' in Autoplay window.
8. Another window will ask you to name your picture folder. Give it a name.
9. The pictures download to the picture folder automatically.
10. Turn the camera off and disconnect cable from camera and from the PC
11. ENJOY!!

Please help us solve this problem. My Polaroid camera also is in the same situation. The picture isn't blurry though, but yeah, camera can't be turned off unless the battery is taken out. Is this a battery problem? -J.

Red light indicates that the camera is out of charged., Try to charged your battery for 3-4 hrs if you encounter flashing red on a fully charged battery you need to call kodak 1 800 235 6325 ext 12

You can charged you camera using 5V AC Adaptor or a USB cable taht attached into the computer

try turning off your flash, if its possible... then if it persist again, maybe you have an hardware problem inside you camera

You may still be able to take pictures with your black screened Kodak camera. This problem occurs in the line of Kodak EasyShare digital camera models.

When you turn on your Kodak EasyShare digital camera, turn off the LiveView function. Take a picture using the small-windowed viewfinder (this is not the LCD screen). Also, try zooming in and out.

After taking a picture, review the picture to see if the picture has been taken. Then turn on LiveView and occasionally the LCD screen should no longer be showing a black screen.

Does the camera turn off or does the screen go black? if the screen goes black but the power lamp stays green then the screen is just turned off (power save mode), If it’s just the screen to turn on the LCD. There are 3 buttons just to the right of the screen, press the center button.

The only thing not functioning was the lens I could turn on off see menus etc but could not take a picture and the lens would not retract - My husband cleaned the battery terminals on battery & in camera -IT WORKED !!!! good as new -

i don't know what age the camera is, did you try full batteries , normally it shouldn't do this it must have a defect if the batteries are not the problem..

perhaps contact the dealer see what is wrong with it..
