When turning the camera on it freezes, it stays on the opening polaride picture. When this happens it won't turn off unless you remove the battary. The picture is blurry and the lens will not go back in automatically when the camera is turned off at least when it doesn't freeze.

Please help us solve this problem. My Polaroid camera also is in the same situation. The picture isn't blurry though, but yeah, camera can't be turned off unless the battery is taken out. Is this a battery problem? -J.

Camera won't turn on when plugged into Mac to download photos.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

My fuji finepix s1730 will only 3 photos before freezing. it won't even turn off, unless i leave it for a few mintues. the photos won't save it just says read error when i try looking at photos i've...

Most likely you are experiencing an issue with your memory card. Remove this first then try shooting pictures to the internal memory of the camera. If all is well then reformat the memory card either with your PC or replace it into your camera. If this is still a problem check your card with fuji's list of approved memory cards http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/compatibility/

Shutter stays open. says turn off and on when

cameras : My Camera Freezes When I Turn It On Or Take A Picture

P, td, li {font-family: arial, u; font-size:9pt; margin-top:0px;margin-bottom:0px; word-spacing:1px;} If you camera freezes when you power it on or when you try to take a picture, you may have a defective memory card. To test your camera and the memory card, follow these steps:
  1. Power off your camera.
  2. Remove the battery from your camera. If you have a memory card inside the camera, remove that as well.
  3. Clean out any dust or debris inside the battery compartment, and then re-insert the battery into your camera.
  4. Power your camera on without the memory card installed.
  5. Take a picture.
    • If your camera takes a picture, re-install the memory card, and then go to Step 6.
    • If it does not take a picture, your camera requires service. To set up service, click the Create Online Service Request button below.
  1. Format the memory card in the camera, and then take another picture.
  2. Important: Formatting erases all pictures and other data from the card. If you have pictures on the memory card you want to keep, download those pictures to your computer before you format the memory card.
    • If your camera does not take a picture with the formatted memory card installed, replace the memory card.
    • If the issue still persists after you’ve installed a new memory card, your camera requires service. To set up service, click the Create Online Service Request button below

Camera Keeps freezing/turning off

Sounds like the camera is writing to the CF card. If this is after taking several shots, even worse in continuous mode. That's why it won't shut off or anything, it has to finish that before it will shut down. If you have access to one try a different card. Remember to reformat it in this camera. Page 38 of your manual. If that works for you take the card into a camera shop and ask them if they will do a low format a newer camera like a XSi, then reformat it in your camera again before you use it.

Camera won't turn on with new batteries or power cord

I heard from another posting on here and the answer, that someone took fine sandpaper and cleaned off the terminal ends of both battery and camera and blew out the dust particles from that before replacing the battery, then then camera worked. I have yet to try it with my Kodak camera that is 2 years old and suddenly died too! The batteries are fine and work in other cameras.
