SOURCE: memory card error for 4GB SDHC card on HP Photosmart printer 2710

Well SD max is 2gb, so you can get 2gb if you want.

SDHC max is 32gb. If you are not on a budget, try upgrading your printer to a newer model.

SDHC is coming out with even newer models, now with a class 10 (10mb read/write speed - but very costly).

However, if it doesn't matter to you, might as well just stick with the same printer, since SD cards are coming down in price. Just make sure you get 2gb cards with a good class speed.

SOURCE: When I insert a SDHC memory card in printer,I get

Your printer was designed to use SD cards with a maximum 2GB capacity. It was not designed to be compatible with SDHC cards and cannot read them.

SDHC cards are a later development and will fit into the same slots, but are technically different. As the difference is due to hardware incompatibility, there is no way to update your printer to accept the later standard.

Lexar 4gb sdhc memory card error

Are your computer's card reader and camera compatible with SDHC cards or only with SD cards? While SDHC cards will fit into SD devices, they are electronically incompatible and will not work in devices not designed for SDHC cards.

I bought a 4gb memory (Sony) card. I t shows unsupported when turned on , is it compatable?

The M415 works with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card and won't work with the camera. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

I bought 4GB SD card for minolta dimage Z1, but error comes UNABLE TO USE CARD....I read in the fourms that this camera does not support 4GB cards... right?

Your camera came out in 2003, before SDHC cards were invented. Chances are, the 4G card you're trying to use is not an SD but an SDHC card and won't work in your camera.

I can not get our memory card to format. it says card error. we are using a microSDHC Ccard with adapter 4gb

Is the camera compatible with SDHC? If it can only handle SD memory cards this card is not readable in the device. It will show on the camera whether it is compatible with SDHC. If it doesn't have the logo, take it as the card won't work and you'll need to get a normal SD card.

There is a theoretical maximum of 2GB for SD memory cards, SDHC start at 4GB and go up to 32GB.

Simply put, if your camera is quite old, it won't support SDHC and therefore is limited to a maximum of 2GB memory card.

Hello I currently have a 2 GB memory card in my canon SD 1000, camera i want to upgrade to 4GB memory card, what is the best brand or type? Will 4GB SDHC memory card work with my canon camera? ...

The Canon SD1000 will work with SDHC cards, up to 32GB in size. Stick with any of the major brands and you won't have problems.

The HP 7350 will NOT work with SDHC cards, limited to SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Cannot format 8gb sandisk sd card

The problem is that your camera is only compatible with SD cards, not SDHC cards. You bought a larger card for your older camera, not noticing that it was SDHC (or not knowing that it mattered). The new card doesn't work, not because it or the camera is broken, but because it's not compatible.

Cards up to 2Gb are generally SD.
Cards of 4Gb are generally SDHC.
Cards over 8Gb have to be SDHC.

(There are exceptions. Sometimes, manufacturers make 4Gb SDHC cards but some have errors; they disable half of the chip and sell it as 2Gb, but it's still SDHC. 4Gb cards are almost always SDHC because they're cheaper, but 4Gb SD cards do exist. They are so rare that I've even seen a guru on this site claim they don't. I did own one once, but it was very expensive and turned out to be so unreliable that I had to return it. I don't recommend looking for one, because of the problems.)

Your solution is to go find a 2Gb card, and be extra sure that it doesn't say "SDHC" on it.

Inserted new memory card error message:memory card error unable to access format under menu

I'm guessing that you bought a new 4GB SDHC card. Although it looks exactly the same as a standard SD card, the format the card uses is very different. Unfortunately your camera was designed before the SDHC format came out. Sorry, but a SDHC card will not work with your camera.

You'll need to use standard SD cards (usually those 2GB or less). But if you really want to use a 4GB card, do a Google search for 4GB SD "non HC", with the non HC in quotes. Believe Transcend makes one.

Message: Memory Card Error - Memory Card Parameter Error on 4gb SDHC card

I recently bought a DMC-TZ3 and have been researching memory cards. Several sites sell cards with the camera and list the card type. I would suggest buying one of these cards. Any cards larger than 2gb must be SDHC type SD cards. There appear to different types of SDHC cards, 1.0, 1.1 and 2.0. Check out Wikipedia.org for a description. 2.0 cards are not compatable for devices developed prior to 2.0 so that may be the reason for the camera problem. So far I haven't seen anything that states what type SDHC card the camera requires. I found a computer memory site that that sells memory that they say will work. There may be others.
