The printer hasn't been used for a year or so. But I just uninstalled it and tried to reinstall and noticed that the disk is not for Windows Vista. What do I do now. Also, I can't do ink print checks, It doesn't print the lines.

First, have you used the printer recently? because the head printing dries (injectors), when you don´t print for a long period.
Second, I recommend you a cleanning process (head) pressing the button panel of your printer (see manual).
If this don´t work you may try a service shop

Hi

Try doing a head cleaning cycle by pressing the ink button for more than 3 seconds and it will make a noise as it attenpt to clean the nozzles, try reprinting. If you are still getting a blank page chances are the nozzles are clogged and yo may need to bring it in a service center or replace it since this is a known issue for this printer.

Hope this helps

Prints blank page

Have you checked the print que
Printer problems can be a real hassle.
From time to time, due to document layout or settings on your computer, in your software of choice, or even on your printer, a blank page may get "printed" with the rest of your document.
Fortunately, this issue is a simple one to troubleshoot.
Click "Print Preview" when you are finished with your document and ready to print.
Observe your document.
If you see an extra, blank page, you have created a second page.
To delete the second page, close Print Preview, go back into the document and eliminate any blank lines in your documents that you may not need.
You may also find an inadvertent page break at the end of your document.
Place your cursor on its symbol and delete it.
Locate the symbol by clicking on the Show Formatting paragraph icon in the toolbar.

Circumvent this "ghost page" if you do not see a second (or additional) blank page in Print Preview.

Specify the number of pages you wish to print, within the Print dialogue box.
This is typically done by selecting the "Print From" option, then entering the page numbers desired.
If your document happens to be ten pages (without, of course, that final blank page), then enter in the "Print From" field the numbers "1-10".
This will print only pages 1 through 10, without an eleventh (blank) page.

Printing blank pages on Lexmark C510 printer. Throws a 34 Short Paper error first, prints out a blank page. I have replaced the black toner, but problem continues. Demo page printed colors successfully but...

For 34 Short Paper error, reseat the tray guides and make sure it is set properly. Also, set the correct settings in the computer. For blank pages, always double-check the paper settings and again the settings in the computer. For not printing black, print the Print Quality page and see what color is not printed or not showing. If Print Quality shows black, try printing any document from any application in the computer. Check if you still have the problem. If problem is not resolved, leave a comment so I can get back to this.

Prints blank pages

hi jcruisedirec

Test print shows that there is no problem with he printer.
Do this:

Type just one or two words in a new document and try to print. Before printing, look at the print setup and make sure you have the correct printer name selected.
Also when you go to print, there are few options like:

  • Print All
  • Current page
  • Pages
  • Selection
If you attempt to print "selection" without actually selecting a certain portion of the document, you get blank page.
So first check that the correct name of the printer is selected.
Then test printing one page
Hope this will help you. Good luck.

The mechanism that takes paper from the tray to the printing area feeds several pages at once so i get printed page, blank page, blank page, printed page, blank page, blank page etc

I am not sure of the printer that you have, but it could be that the seperator pad is dirty or the paper feed rollers are dirty. You can clean them with a little isopropyl alcohol and a soft cloth, Make sure the printer is off when doing this procedure.
