If the front of the screen is glass, then follow these steps:

  • Step 1 Apply polishing or jeweler's rouge to a lambs wool buffing pad. You can either buff the scratch by hand using a circular motion or with an electric buffer on medium speed.
  • Step 2 Wash the polishing compound, jeweler's rouge or whitening toothpaste off from time to time in order to check on the progress of the scratch removal.
  • Step 3 Mix two ounces of ammonia with two quarts of water. You may want to be sure to hold your nose closed during this process! Also, always wear rubber gloves and safety goggles when working with ammonia.
  • Step 4 Clean the glass surface with the ammonia water with a clean soft sponge.
  • Step 5 Dry the glass with a lint free towel. If the scratches are not completely gone, they should at least be less apparent. If there is no significant difference, consider contacting a glass company to rebuff the glass.

Scratches on Sony Bravia kdl-52w4100 screen cause white specs that never go away. Can this be fixed?

If the screen is scratched it will need to be replaced, so yes it can be fixed but it will be expensive. If you have nothing to lose you could try reducing the effect of the scratches by polishing across them gently with fine jewellers rouge, try a corner first as it might completely ruin the screen. Not too much pressure as you will damage screen further

My plazma tv has a thin black line across but i can still watch it like i normaly do, how can i fix it?

If the line goes all the way across the screen, you might have a flexible cable from the scan out board, to the plasma panel that's not properly seated.

Thin black line

Try to replace the YSCAN board. If not fix it, then it's the PDP Panel failure.

Lcd tv scratched

One really cheap and quick fix is to gently rub a little vaseline into the scratch, then even more gently rub off the excess, in the direction of the scratch. Oftentimes, though still visible when the screen is off, the scratch will virtually disappear when the display is on. An alternative method is to use white candle wax, which has been allowed to cool on the tip of a cotton swab. If this does not work, a fine rubbing compound can remove the scratch for real, assuming it is not too deep.
