There is no sound coming out from my laptop though the sound device was installed

Best first step is to make sure that you have the most current driver from Acer. If you are unsure if it's current just doenload the one that is right for your operating system.
Either way re-install the drive! (YES, even if it said that everything is operating correctly).

You have to go to control panel, find device manager, click this, find DVD and click, re-install the driver and restart

Please try and remove the battery from the laptop. Then disconnect and remove any devices attached to the computer. (Printer, USB Flash drives, esternal hard disk drive etc.)
Then press the power button for 60 seconds.
Now reconnect the battery and try switching on the laptop.
This might help.

you should have to installed a sound driver bro for back-up your sound systems.

Does you machine produce any error messages?
One of the programs you installed is probably causing the freezes.
Try to identify any programs that freeze when you try to run them.
Uninstalling the program should help solve the problem.

You can not rule out viruses though

does the laptop recognized you canon power shot? if not try installing the software of the canon power shot to your laptop, these camera comes with installation when you purchased it, try to install it, sometimes win xp does not recognized such devices

This might sound stupid, but did you activate the blue tooth on a other device so that there is a device to scan for? I am saying this, because my pc gives that message when it does not find any other devices to connect with, although the blue tooth on my pc works fine.

Check device manager for marks, red cross's etc...on the devices list, look in here,

Start, control panel , system/maintainance,
device manager, disk drive in here, right click, scan for hardware changes, update diver,

or double click it, driver tab, try roll back, or update & search, internet needed,
if no light's or no activity after this and all connections are good, ESD kit, needed to test that, then it's drive failure.

Check the media on different Computer, if it functions
You have just confirmed it.
