Make sure the door switch operates the light in the freezer because power is supplied to the im through this switch. Insure the freezer is 15 degrees or lower, these temps need to be reached before the im will cycle. Access the blue tube on the blue valve, disconnect it and blow through it. If you cant blow through it look at the tube that comes from the ceiling to the ice maker and check for ice blocking the tube. If water is coming through the dispenser then the water line that feeds the valve is not frozen and you either have a bad valve or a restricted fill tube.

Brand new magic chef ice maker has never worked.

Brand new ice maker has not made ice yet. It has been 3 days. It pulls water, fun runs close to 10 minutes, goes through the motions of dumping ice in the bucket but there is no ice to be dumped. ..........amazon78.com8GBLH5

My ice maker does not dump ice. What would cause it to not dump?

Hello. Remove the bin from the icemaker, turn off the icemaker by raising the wire. Then use a hair blow dryer to thaw and remove any remaining ice and dry out the ice mold. Once it is dry, spray it with PAM cooking spray to lubricate it again. let the pam dry for a few hours then put the ice cube maker back in operation. J.

Not putting water into ice maker to make ice

Try pouring 1/2 cup of water into the icemaker and if it dumps ice , then the water valve or fill tube is the problem . If it does not dump , then the icemaker is the problem , or , freezer is not cold enough . Check your coils under the refrig to make sure they are clean and the fan that cools the compressor is working ( and the freezer fan also ) .

Ice Maker not working

Get me the model number. Put tap water in ice maker tray and make sure arm is down. Let it freeze. Wait and see if the ice will drop, this should allow water to come into the ice maker for another run. Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

LG SXS Refrigerator LSC26905 ice maker

I was able to order the ice tray myself and install it in the fridge - it's not hard. I ordered from one of the parts sellers linked to at the LG website, not those listed in other posts here.

Here's how to replace the tray:

You need to remove the tray dumping mechanism to do this.
  1. Remove the ice bin, set it aside (don't forget to deal with the ice melt).
  2. Turn the ice maker off (LG says to unplug the fridge, I didn't).
  3. On the left hand side of the ice tray dumping mechanism there is a screw helping to keep the entire thing suspended from the ceiling of the freezer. Remove that screw- don't worry, the mechanism will stay put for now.
  4. The dumping mechanism can now slide forward- note that you can't completely remove it from the freezer yet, but slide it forward and it will no longer be suspended from the ceiling. Don't let it drop or hang.
  5. You need to disconnect its power supply now. On the left hand side you should see a small bundle of wires coming from the back of the freezer to the dumping mechanism. It connects to the dumping mechanism's set of wires with a pair of white plugs. Pull these plugs apart. You may need to pry the catch on these plugs apart while you pull.
  6. Now you can take the dumping mechanism out of the freezer (and close your freezer).
  7. To remove the ice tray you need to slide the housing that contains the rotating motor out of the housing. This is on the right side of the mechanism. If you have trouble identifying it look at the underside of the entire thing and you'll see a small "test" button. That button is on the motor.
  8. To remove the motor you'll see two catches on the right side- you'll need to pull these catches out without breaking anything. You'll be able to slide the motor down and out when you get it right.
  9. Sliding the motor out lets you get the old ice tray out now. There is probably a set of white wires routed through a little catch on the old ice tray that you'll need to free.
  10. Put the new ice tray back on the motor. You'll need to get the left side secured at the same time you get the motor housing in its catches of the dumping mechanism.
  11. Reroute those white wires back on the new ice tray.
  12. Reconnect the electric wires to the housing.
  13. Slide the entire dumping housing back onto the ceiling of the freezer and screw in on the left side.
That's it. You can press that test button on the underside of the motor. This will dump the tray and immediately refill it with water so you can observe if everything is working.

Installed replacement Icemaker but will not dump new ice...

Either your freezer is not cold enough or you got a defective ice maker. It needs to be 15 degrees or colder to make ice. The water may be frooze but not cold enough to close the internal thermostat inside the ice maker. If your freezer is colder that 15 degrees, take the ice maker back to Sears, you got a lemon. Good luck!, Mack

Ice maker is dumping ice but arm is not fully going all the way down

Is your Ice bin filling up too much? Frigdaire did have problems with there ice makers, and I belive the new ones come with a arm extention. Your one of the lucky one's and your icemaker still makes ice! I dont know how old your unit is but they were replaceing icemakers under a factory warrenty. I could be wrong but I think they were doing it up to a 5 year old unit.

Ice Maker not dumping

Sailor, Samsung put out a service flash on your model regarding the ice maker fill tube. What is happening is that ice is forming on both ends of the fill tube. When the ice tray twists in the harvest it is hitting on the fill tube and pulling it from it's mount. Could this be why the drive motor seems to weak. The flash number is ASC20060525001. They redesigned the fill tube, part number DA63-02928A. Just trying to help you find an answer...Catriver..post back.
