Hello, my tv is about a year and a half old. Since last night it's been turning on for a few seconds with sound, no picture, then a thin line appears in the middle, disappears, and the TV turns itself off.
I've tried plugging and unplugging, plugging into a surge protector. Just not sure what's going on! Help!

The repair of this problem will be near to or exceed the cost to replace it with a new flat screen. With TV prices at an all time low due to slack demand it is not cost conscious to repair it.
I woke up one morning and the tv was dead, only a dark blue screen. remote works and that's it. i was thinking about doing the rca reset but don't know how to. this tv is only 2 years old when i brought it. I think it's time for a new flat screen with what the techs are asking for to fix it.
Before you fool around with this, it may be under warranty. Check that first. Second, does the picture stretch in both directions or just vertically? If just vertically is it more pronounced at the top?
Thanks,
Dan
