My electrolux canistar vacuum cleaner has no suction. The motor runs but no suction. he suction is created by two rotating disks with built in veins. I suspect that the covered disks is slipping on the shaft but I don't know how to be sure.

SOURCE: remove suction motor on rainbow vacuum

Take off the water tank, remove the screw, should be four, that will separate the 2 pieces, remove the rubber seal, remove the screws, 8 If I remember, disconnect the wires to the motor, it should pull out. Replace motor, hook up the wires, screw it back together, glue the water seal back on.

SOURCE: Disassemble electrolux olympia one vacuum.

Before taking the machine apart, always check for clogs in the hose and power nozzle, full bag, and/or plugged hole under the bag. Suction/vacuum loss can also be caused by leaky or cracked hose, including the section in the power nozzle.
The best way to check for clogs is simply drop a large marble in one end and let it roll through. To check for leaks in hose, hook to exhaust port, pour a small amount of liquid dish soap in other end of hose, lift high and turn on vacuum. Bubbles will appear at badly worn spots and cracks in hose.
There is no need to pull out the motor, as their is no filter surrounding it, motor does not need lubrication, and the above check should result in locating the problem.
Repair manuals are only available to Electrolux franchise owners as highly restricted software.

The vacuum stopped working while i was using it...did all the troubleshooting tips.. still not working.

Sometimes the vacuum will overheat, if this happens the vacuum will shut down to protect it from damage.

Unplug the vacuum, and let it sit unused 30 minutes.

Please let me know if this has solved your problem.

My central vaccum cleaner has no suction at all outlets even at the canister. The motor is still working and blowing air out the air release tube. What could be the problem

Check the filter in the tank. If this is dirty, the motor will still run, but there will be little to no suction. Rinse thoroughly under warm water, then allow to thoroughly air dry before replacing into vacuum.
I recommend having two filters in order to use one while the other is drying.

My versatility electrolux vacuum is 2 years old and it has lost its suction, i have replaced the filters and checked every hosing area i have access to, it seems to all be clear. I dont know what else to...

It sounds like the fan blades have worn away until there's basically no air resistance, thus no air flow/suction. The whine is created by the motor turning at a higher speed due to lack of resistance.
The fan wasn't covered by the warranty, anyway.
It's time to either replace the motor/fan assembly or buy another vacuum.

NO SUCTION

If you have no suction, there are only a couple of things that could cause it. As you have checked for blockage, and changed your filters, you may have a vacuum motor with bad bearings, or broken fan blades (inside/on the vacuum motor). Either symptom points towards a vacuum motor being bad and needing replaced.

Vacum won't ****

Do you have good suction right out of the canister without the hose attached? If so, AND your hose isn't plugged, you must have a pretty good sized hole somewhere in the hose. If you don't have suction at the canister, pull the filter cover off the top-back of the machine and remove the filter. This is where all of the air that the machine pulls in is exhausted. If something is plugged here, it will greatly reduce your suction. If you still haven't found the problem, you could have a problem with the fan assembly on the motor. But usually this is accompanied by some noise from the motor, but not always. Good Luck!!

I have Electrolux canister vac. The suction end pops open every time it loads up.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. In the door there are vacuum lines that could be pinched or bent and are not letting air through to the bag, the system is designed that if the bag get to full or the air flow is restricted it will pop the door open and save the motor from burn out. This is repairable and nor to expensive and to check with the local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or to call the Electrolux cust serv @ the factory for further information. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
