No suction on my Electrolux central vacuum in all outlets even though motor is running and there is no clog in the hose.

I have low to no suction on my Electrolux vacuum when I turn it on, even though the motor appears to be working and running normally. The problem is the same in all outlets, even the one immediately off of the main system. I have also checked for clogs in the hose and there are none.

Upon powering up suction is low. Needs to be primed with hand on hose intake; then full suction comes back.

Turn the vacuum on without the hose.If this continues the motor may need armature brushes or the motor itself may be burned out...motors are not too expensive,I usually put "Lamb" motors in for around 139.00....Chris

My central vaccum cleaner has no suction at all outlets even at the canister. The motor is still working and blowing air out the air release tube. What could be the problem

Check the filter in the tank. If this is dirty, the motor will still run, but there will be little to no suction. Rinse thoroughly under warm water, then allow to thoroughly air dry before replacing into vacuum.
I recommend having two filters in order to use one while the other is drying.

No suction on electrolux glider

Two things are the common causes for this.
1. Clogged hose. Drop a marble in one end and allow it to roll out the other. If it doesn't, there's a clog. Trying attaching the hose to the exhaust port and turning it on. This may blow out the plug if it's not packed too tightly. If it's clogged and this doesn't work, try taking it in to a vacuum service center.
2. Leaky hose. Even seemingly small leaks can result in a lot of suction loss in a long hose. Leaks result from normal wear and tear like dragging on the floor, or abuse like being stepped on or improperly stored.
There are no fixes for a leaky hose, simply replacement.

The low speed for bare floors won't work at all. The regular speed for vacuuming carpets turns on but spits items back out after a little bit.

An advice is more like it. What I do in a situation like that is to see if the air flows freely into the machine to see it here is an ubstruction or that the bag is full.. If that is OK II put the brush "down" and high speed on and sweepthe floor.
Then there is always the "troubleshooting" chapter in the manual. If the manual is lost in it´s printed form then look for Electrolux on the "net" there you will find your make, hopefully.

What would cause the suction to be weak?

Hello,
It sounds as though there is something stuck in the hose or outlet from the motor to the hose.

My electrolux central vac outlets work on the main

Low suction

1) Have you checked the filter? If it is clogged your suction will be low. Also, you could have a pipe loose where you can't see. Make sure that you can get a coin to go all the way through the hose. make sure the suction motor ( the unit ) is coming on.

2) Call the repair man.

Central Vaccum - Kenmore Model No 34330

Is there suction where the pipe hooks to the cannister? If so, then are all of the outlets without suction? Maybe the hose is plugged. If the hose is ok, and there is suction at the cannister, then **** up a small **** of paper, one for each room outlet, have a number on each piece of paper, Which ever one doesn't ,ake it thru to the cannasiter is the outlet that is plugged. You can use a plumbers snake to clean out a clogged outlet or even a clogged hose.

If the motors are running and sound ok, then there has to be suction at the outlet on the cannister. If the filter bag is old, it may be best to replace it with a new one.

Electrolux central vac problems

I work on many types of units. If you electric floor brush runs but you have no suction then there is possibly a problem with the relay board that allows you to turn on the suction from the hose handle. This is a low voltage (24 V) switching loop circuit that will cause the 120 V motor in the unit to run.

Inside the wall valve are two brass pins. NOTE: there are 120V valves installed on some systems known as a Super Valve. A shock hazared exists if you work on that type of valve. That being said. In the round portion of the valve you can use a garage hose that has a 360 deg. chrome ring to test the valve. The ring completes the circuit causing the unit to power up and suction at the end of the hose. If the suction is weak, there is a colg in the pipe. If you hear no airflow, the relay inside the unit did not energize or the motor is bad.

To test: go to the unit and turn the switch on the side to "manual" if the unit turns on the motor should be ok. DO NOT RUN THE UNIT without and open valve. In some brands dammage to your motor will occure.

If the unit did not run, look for a small button near the switch. This is a circuit breaker for the motor. If it is poped out and you hear a "click" when you press it in there is most likely motor problems and someone should be contacted for repair.

Hope this helps!!
