There is a good review on the following link: http://members.tripod.com/ZXM/zxm_test.html Really you do need to get the full manual, it is "only" 56 pages & there is no better guide. You can download the manual from the link below: http://www.pentaximaging.com/files/manual/ZX-M.pdf Please update the question & let us know if the information given was useful to you - Good Luck!

Pentax ME super advance film doesn't get caught

This is a known fault with this retro model, I'm afraid - over time, the plastic gears get worn, and eventually fail. Solutions are mentioned on the Pentax Forums.

Hi, I've been looking to buy a Pentax ME Super 35mm SLR Film Camera off ebay. Here is a link to it - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pentax-ME-Super-35mm-SLR-Film-Camera-Vintage-/110740805140?...

From what you've given, it sounds like the shutter is fried, or the mechanism jammed - or both. If you're wanting to keep the camera, and use it, you'll need to contact a repair technician and have them take a look at it for a repair estimate - assuming it's able to be repaired. Estimates will run you around $35 most places, if there's no shop near you KEH Camera which has a website is quite good.

The same thing just happened to my Nikon FE, and my estimates have been ranging anywhere from $105-145 to get it fixed. So, if you're willing to invest $100-150 (or more) in repairs...peraonally I'd pass and spend a little more on a tested and working model, good sources are KEH Camera, Adorama, and B&H Photo, all have websites, and all sell tested and guaranteed used equipment. IT'll cost you a little more up front, but long run repairs will cost far more on an unknown condition ebay special. Not to mention ebay prices often exceed what dealers charge for the same items in working condition.

E means that the film hasn't been loaded properly. http://www.pentaximaging.com/files/manual/IQZoom105WR.pdf Is the instructional manual for the camera, if you read through it it should tell you how to properly load the film.

I bought a minolta 35mm camera..i dont know how 2 use it....i can load the film but dont know how to program to take pic.

if you could reply with the exact model of the camera I may be able to find a user manual online
heres a link to the minolta manuals http://ca.konicaminolta.com/support/manuals/index.html
Once you have the film loaded - you then need to set the correct aperture and speed for the light available to correctly expose the film - There will be a number of options and methods to do that depending on the model .
You may also need to get a battery for the camera -

Wont turn on

Hello,
I assumed that you loaded a fresh battery set and with correct polarity ,otherwise it does give such signal.
If you have the user manual, please check the other alternatives on trouble shooting section.
If you do not have a user manual you can visit the site below where instruction manual copies for Pentax,
www.pentax-manuals.com

It's not an official site, but the manuals for downloading are better quality copies and in color
where possible: and they have the MZ30 too.

Loading film in my vintage camera..help!

The "magic needles" while making the camera easy to load are about as intuitive as a dead skunk, I had a similar confusion when I got an ME Super. Put the film can in the left side of the camera back (the side with the little thing sticking out is the bottom, it looks upside down this way, but that is correct). Next push the film winder down, this will semi-lock the can into place. Now pull the film-lead across the camera and push it down between some of the white "magic needles on the opposite spool(push it in a bit so that it will stay). Next advance the lever; release the shutter. If the spool starts to turn you are doing it right. Now close the door and continue advancing and clicking until the little frame number window on top reads 1.

i think it means the film hasn't loaded properly. I had this and opened up the back and the film hadn't wound so it wasn't exposed. Anyway i just wound the film around a bit and shut the back and it turned on like normal. hope this helps.
