Need a 'User' or 'Operating Manual'.

In the "Manuals and Guides" section, the manual shown that is named: "Pentax *ist DS Digital Camera User Guide" is actually NOT for a Pentax istDS digital camera, it is in fact for the Pentax ist FILM camera! Can anyone supply a photo copy or the complete manual (which might be difficult!) or allow me to borrow the manual and copy it, or supply a copy in an Acrobat PDF file?

Need to download canon powershot SD550 camera manual

Canon has several User Manuals for the SD550, as well as manuals for their software, on the product site. See http://usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/digital_cameras/powershot_sd_series/powershot_sd550#BrochuresAndManuals . (If needed click on Brochures and Manuals link; then expand the Guides and Manuals section.) The full titles aren't given. It just gives the Canon product name and then User (before hiding the rest). The first one with User in the title is the Basic guide. The second one is the Advanced Guide.

Firmware install on Pentax ist DS. Had Ver2.0 & everything worked fine. Simply wanted to upgrade to V2.02 to used SDHC cards. User Power AC and install ran approx 90 secs and displayed showed half way...

You need to go to the support section of the Pentax website and engage in a live chat with a service tech using your computer or even a phone conversation to resolve your problem.

Try using another lens, if this solves the problem you have a lens problem. If not the camera is the problem.

Using Pentax lenses from 35 mm on the digital camera.....

I have old Lenses that I use; you must set your lens to manual, Switch left hand front of body. That should resolve the problem.

If you want to use the aperture ring on the lens you must enable this in the Custom settings menu. jamknight, sounds like your camera may need a professional cleaning.

PENTAX IST DS PROBLEM WITH INTERNAL FLASH

First make sure the camera is not set to No Flash on the shooting mode dial.Also, in P, Tv, Av or M modes the flash reverts to manual and must be raised manually by pressing the button next to the viewfinder.

You need a Pentax USB cable I-USB17.
You can get it online from B&H photo or Adorama camera.
I would go with B&H photo personally.

Can *ist DL do High-Speed/Wireless Flash?

According to the manual (page 153), the DL DOES support P-TTL flash, with the built-in or external flash, but only supports high-speed flash with an external flash. What I'm wondering is, what is high-speed sync flash useful for? The only thing I can think of is fill-flash outdoors.

I have taken a lot of photos with my camera. It may just be that it is getting old, but the photos are starting to come out as really "grainy" More noticably the background in most images. It isn't as sharp as sharp as it used to be.

I have just had my Ist DL2 camera cleaned. Today is the first time I started taking photos with it however it is not recording any images. The monitor screen remains black and on the bottom lefthand corner there is a bin icon with delete beside it. Nothing has been recorded on my card. Every attempt I have made to photograph something is always blank. What could they have done to my camera when they cleaned it.
