I am working on probability distribution with my TI 85.
I was able to find Sx without a problem for t-stat analysis, when frequency are always integer (no decimal pt).
Now I work on probability, which is usually in decimal places (non integers). For instance,
X Prob
1 0.58
2 0.20
3 0.20
.
.
When I input the data, it went to "Error 23 STAT"
While I do not know what 23 STAT means, it show an error.
What do you do?
Frequencies are always integers. They indicate how many times that particular data value came up. The data values may be non-integers.
As an example, let's say you're measuring the weights of widgets. You may have 3 widgets weighing 1.1 kg, 5 widgets weighing 1.2 kg, and 2 widgets weighing 1.3 kg.
Note that the data are non-integers (1.1, 1.2, 1.3) but the frequencies are integers (3, 5, 2).
