Tab key not working

I have a dell vostro 1310 all of a sudden a few month ago tab, windows etc keys stopped working plzz help

Use the software diagnostic coming with DELL, this will indicate you if the keyboard is faulty. or the driver is corrupted. You need to uninstall and install the new driver update.

You should just need to replace the keyboard.

However finding a keyboard for a packard bell in the US can be hard. That brand hasnt been sold here in years.

If you are in europe it should be less of a problem though.
Made sure to get the exact model of the laptop to get the right keyboard.

SOURCE: where is tab key & alt key does not work in dos programs

Tab key is located on the lefthand side of the keyboard just above the Capslock key and says TAB on it,It should also have two arrows,One facing left and one facing right.

Try the other Alt key located at the other end of the space bar

SOURCE: no sound from the speakersof dell vostro 1310

I have noticed this issue in several computers coming through the shop. Go to control panel and then make sure its in classic view. Open device manager. Windows will ask if you really want to do that. Agree so that you can see what you need to. Look at the sound portion and make sure that windows actually reconizes your sound device.
If it does, it may not be trying to use the sound card. Go here http://www.icompute.info/no_sound_from_card.htm to get the instructions for setting the default sound card.

SOURCE: SHIFT KEYS NOT WORKING PROPERLY

Please try to deactivate the Fn (function) key. That will help you get rid of your problem. Press Fn key + Numlock key once and try again. You can also try pressing the Fn key once and type letters in any word processor program with the key combination everytime you press the Fn key once. E.g. open the notepad, press Fn once and after that press ) with Shift.

easy way.... go to internet options and restore it all to default, and set security to med. apply and test.

harder way... update ALL LAN and network/internet related drivers, then disable them. then re-enable them, then restart computer.
if none of these works you do have a hardware issue cuz thats covers all the soft ware issues possible except maybe a virus, but u did a clean install so.... probly not you can get to the drivers from computer management

Where is numlock key in dell vostro 1310

Should be located in the upper right hand corner. It may be highlighted in blue letters, meaning that you have to use the blue <FN> key next to the space-bar to imitate it.

Hi how do I turn off the num-lock on my dell vostro 1310? There seems to be no icon on the keypad to turn it off with. Because it is turned on, I cannot type intelligibly without keeping the Fn key pressed...

you will have to press fn then home key if that doesnt work then the key after f12 no need to hit fn i believe for that. LET ME KNOW if this helped

Please restart the computer and keep tapping the F8 key on the keyboard once you see the Dell logo unitll you see windows advanced boot menu, choose last known good configuration using your up and down arrow keys on the keyboard. Once highlighted then press enter key. This should take your computer's settings to the last time when your computer was working fine. Also remember to remove any external devices (printers, USB flash memory, memory cards, External hard drive or CD/ DVD drive etc) Also remove CD / DVD present inside the CD/DVD drive.

Hi!! I have a Dell Vostro 1310 with Windows 7 Ultimate installed and I was burning a DVD with Nero Express when it suddenly froze. I restarted the computer and when I put a DVD back into it, it doesn't...

It is probably a nero quirk. You will not be able to read the disk you were writing as there will be no table of contents written to it which is [ossibly why it failed.
Re install Nero or load the latest updates before trying again.
