The bulb had recently burnt out after 4 years. We tried changing the bulb and the LCD says it is warming up. After waiting about 7-10 seconds, the display says "Lamp did not strike". Not sure if the burnt out bulb caused a short circuit to the motherboard, or if the heat from the bulb either burnt up a wire or corrupted something inside of the projector?
We did some trouble shooting. We also cleaned the inside with "air spray" and some dust was removed from inside and from the air filter.
Everything seems to look fine so we are not sure what the problem is.
Could it be a bad bulb? Could it be the mother board and some internal wires were burnt from the hot bulb, over time?
We need an answer by close of business today.
Thank You for your time.

I am unsure of this from your post, but don't try to hook the projector up to the laptop while either one of them is on. Power both the laptop and the projector off, hook up the projector to the laptop, then power on the projector first then the laptop. If you are already doing this, I apologize for stating the obvious.

Most likely, if it is a thermal problem, your main cooling fan has quit or is stopping after a short period. The problem is, I've seen several of these do this, and in every case, it is not the fan that has failed, but the Controller Board. And that is a very expensive part.

The specs of the LP640 show that the maximum resolution it can handle is 720p. You are trying to make the projector do something it cannot handle
