GE X400 Won't turn on?

I have a GE X400 and when I try turning it on, the lens will pop out but it doesn't come on all the way. It will either take me to the loading screen or refuse to come on at all. This happened when I put new batteries in. All the while, the light is green. But when I tried doing it again a few weeks later, the light will be either yellow or flashing red. Any suggestions?

Call Sony so they can fix it. This sounds like multiple problems. Good luck.

SOURCE: stuck :(

I concur. The camera will be "beyond economical repair," and the 10% offer does little for customer loyalty.

GE X400 just stopped working

First check the batteries (are they fully charged, are they inserted correctly). Next connect the camera to an AC adapter (if available). Try to turn the camera back on. If it works, then try different batteries. If the camera is still not working, after checking the trouble shooting section in your camera manual, call the camera manufacturers support desk.

I have a GE X400 When I turn it on the lens extends out and stays in that position. It will not shut down either and the screen is black.

I also encountered the same problem on my camera. I pulled the batteries out and put them back in. I haven't had it happen again.

Downloading photos from GE X400 to computer

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Some stupid person has dropped and then kicked my brand new Samsung camera and now it won't turn on and the lens is stuck out :( When I try to turn it on it makes a weird beep and won't turn on and...

You should try to get that stupid person to buy you a new camera if the following doesn't help. Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ... Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them.

Lens stuck out and won't turn on. When I try to turn it on it flashes a red light but it doesn't turn on.

Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to lens error problems can only be corrected by professional repair. My Olympus vg120 switches on but the lens won't pop out. It makes a noise and tried to open but doesn't

Sounds like it has been dropped and is off track/set .As long as it wasn't broke electronic tech could fix it. Dont spend much tho cause they are around 75 bucks online now.
