Stuck :( my kodak easyshare DX6440 is stuck. The lens wont retract and whenever i turn it on, the little green light flashes, but then makes a few buzzing noises and turns red. Ive tried new batteries, but it still wont work... what should i do?

We have the same problem. We've used the camera exactly one day. We've tried recharging it, but we cannot seem to find a way to turn the camera off.

Mine was stuck also. I took it apart and couldn't get to the lens motor. I was able to push the lens back in and get the screen to come on. But with the lens closed teh screen shuts off and I'm back to square one. Anyone know how to access the lens motor? The back panel comes off easily, but there is one part on the front panel that sticks on the top of the lens and I can't get that off. Thanks.

I concur. The camera will be "beyond economical repair," and the 10% offer does little for customer loyalty.

My Kodak DX6440 did the same thing. After sending it to Kodak's third-party repair (as per Kodak), they called to say it was not fix-able. Kodak's response was "No parts available" and offered 10% off list price of a refurbished camera. ...Big sports ...Way to keep customer loyalty If you choose Kodak, the cameras are good but buy them knowing they are a disposable item.
