Do you have a separate cable converter? In that case, the tv must be set to channel 2,3 or 4 (depending on the box) and you use the converter's remote to change channels. Otherwise, go into the setup menus for your tv and look for 'tuning' or 'source' and make sure it's set to 'cable' and not 'antenna'. Hope this helps!

Too much green on TV screen. Cable company says TV problem. What do I do?

Cable company is correct - it is impossible for the cable signal to selectively change color. Your TV is missing or deficient in the Red channel. Contact someone local for TV repair.

You gave too technical an answer . I'm 80 years old & don't know what you are talking about.

Assuming you have a TV hooked up to some kind of cable box, I would venture to say the TV is telling you it is not receiving a signal from the cable box.
Two things could be the problem;
1 You are on the wrong channel to receive a signal - some boxes send the signal to you on channel 3 - if your TV somehow got changed to channel 4, for example, it would not recognize the signal from the box. Make sure you are on the correct channel setting.
2. The cable box may not be turned on or formated properly. Turn the box off and then back on after a few minutes. Follow any messages on the screen on the box for a proper start-up.

If nothing helps, call your cable company for assistance..

I can not get channels on my vizio hdtv. i have a cable cored hooked up to the tv and i can not get the channels to come on the tv screen. it keeps saying "No Signal!"

You will need to make sure that your cable is connected to the correct input (if more than one) and then enter the Menu and look for a "set up" screen and select "Scan for Digital Channels".

After the scan the TV should be fine.

Tv has no signal when i push the guide button on remote the screen says NO CHANNEL i erased the channels listed somehow but don't no how? tv has no signal now

I recommend doing an automatic channel scan to ensure you are receiving reception, the second thing to check is that are you using a digital set top box and do you have the tv on the correct input setting, eg, av input, etc.
You can also test this theory by getting another tv that you know has channels and works and pug it into the antenna of the unit you are having problem with. I hope this helps.
Good luck.

What is your TV input connection? Are you using Antenna? Cable? Dish?

The Unusable Signal sounds like the TV is not getting a signal. Does your TV have a built in HD Tuner?

If you are using Antenna you might want to try setting up the connections and it should search for quality channels that you get good signal strength. If you are on channel 2 and there is no over the air channel 2 it may say "unusable signal".

Humm coming from speakers - can't get cable to work

The RF input is the correct one for a cable signal. The other sources use the RCA and other ports which you can connect to other devices, like DVD or VCR players.

If the humm noise only happens when you're on the TV channel then it's likely just the station. Try changing the channel and see if that helps, and make sure the coax is screwed in all the way. Also make sure the other end, if connected to a VCR or other stuff, is tightly attached. If you share cable with many other people and the signal has snow (white spots on the TV), then you may need to buy an RF signal amplifier to reduce the noise.

Source changes the input (RCA versus coaxial versus component inputs), change the channel for different channels..

Get HD Signals but it Says Channels not available

you might have to look for "hidden" hd channels.

most cable companies are broadcasting the local stations unencrypted, so you should be able to receive them and sometimes a few other "basic" hd channels like discovery or tnt.

try googling your cable system, city and hd channels to see if someone has posted a list of channels (eg, 88-1 or 102-1)
