SOURCE: Can't pick up all the signals

I always tell people to carefuly read their instruction manual and consult the product tech support before determing that there is actualy a fault with their unit.

If sounds like the tuner module or the controler board for the tuner may be failing, or there is a power supply distribution fault to the tuner section and or its controler. This has to be service by the manufacture.

One of the criteria I recommend when people buy an expensive appliance or TV is to make sure that there is local authorized service. I also recommend an extended warrany for expensive items. The warranty is like insurance. You may or may not need to collect!

SOURCE: Toshiba 26AV502U Won't Pick Up Channels

Hi albertogiler, I am happy to help, you will need to attach a antenna to the tv to pick up OTA over the air signals, depending on your location you may be able to use a set of rabbit ears, I have provided a link to a site that will explain in depth. http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx
Let me know if this helps and please rate this solution. lone99star

SOURCE: Basic broadcast channel plan vs. indoor digital antenna

Hi masaki h,
I am happy to help.
It is almost impossible to tell how well an antenna will work . It depends on atmospheric conditions, distance to the broadcast tower and a number of other factors.
The new flat antennas look nice and should work fine but your best course of action is to buy from a store with a liberal return policy. Places like Walmart will take the antenna back for any reason as long as you have an reciept.
Somtimes a cheap set of rabbit ears work as well as a expensive amplfied antenna.
I say give it a try and if not acceptable return it and try another one. I have provided a link to a site that will explain more about DTV and antennas. http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx

Please rate this solution and please keep in mind that any rating except FixYa is a negative to my rank here
Thanks Lone99star

SOURCE: Using an over the air antenna I get all channels but one.

I experience the same thing on a day to day basis. The key, is location of the antenna. Depending on where your antenna is located, determines if u can recieve local CBS analog v. digitial. I actually tried sticking aluminum foil to my old rabbit ear antenna legs. to my surprise, I even picked up digital channel I never knew existed. Besides, when the signal transmit in Digital, u are already prepared. Your local CBS afilliate station will be accesable on maybe 2 or 3 channels. example:

Channel 10 analog

Channel 10-1, 10-2, 10-3 digital HD will all broadcast the same programming.

hope this helps u out.

SOURCE: Can't program digital channels only has analog option

If your TV does not have a digital tuner, you'll need a digital converter box.
After the digital switch in June, did you have channels then? If so just do a rescan.

What city or town is this 213 area code located in?

North American area code 213 is a California telephone area code which was one of California's original three area codes created in October 1947. It has historically been associated with Southern California and Los Angeles.
Originally, it stretched from the southern portion of the Central Valley to the Mexican border. Due to California's burgeoning population, however, it has been subdivided numerous times. It now contains only downtown Los Angeles and its immediate environs, and is completely surrounded by area code 323. The subdivisions to date have been:

What antenna do you recommend wit the RCA 20F510TD

This tv has an analog tuner so you will need a digital-to-analog tuner set-top box (assuming you live in an area where most stations have been converted to digital TV broadcast). Whichever tuner you use, the recommended antenna will depend on where you live and how many tall objects are between you and the transmitters. Go to antennaweb.org or tvfool.com and type in your address. Antennaweb assumes an external antenna but is still very conservative in the channels it will identify as watchable in your area. Tvfool.com lists the channels by direction and the antenna type (by color) you will need to receive them. The color rating is based on how far the stations signal travels to reach your location. An amplifier can help you receive stations that are marginal to your location. (Digital signals are sufficient for the TV to tune them in or you get "no signal" messages.)

I hope this helps.

(I'm in a rural area with an external antenna with a signal splitter/amplifier. Antennaweb suggests I will only get the stations ~10 miles away. In fact I get the stations from there as well as the ones ~30 miles away.)

Can this tv pick up the new digital off air signals? i just bought an indoor digital antenna and no channels will come in. do i need a converter box?

You need a digital box. If the TV is connected to the Digital Box & you have it setup correctly you should be able to get Digital channels. An internal antenna is not the best idea unless you are in a good reception area.
