I cannot get power from 12 adapter - 2007 Camry

It is just a 12 volt power outlet. A lot would depend on what you are plugging into it and whether it is suitable? Connect a multimeter to it and check it for voltage as rest (no engine running), at idle and when revving at 5,000 rpm. Voltage should optimal 13.2 volts with max at 14.2.

the lighter socket will be straight 12 volts and the GPS may require less (5.5 volts) and the different size is to prevent the over voltage and damaging the GPS unit. There may be an adaptor that will do the job and it may have a built- in transformer for the purpose.

Your best bet is to check on eBay for an adapter - the Asians make all sorts of stuff for cars now & i'm sure there is an adapter out there suited for your purposes. P.S. It may sound silly but are you sure you are using the actual cigarette lighter socket & Not a power outlet socket that many cars are now fitted with as standard?, my phone charger fits the cigarette socket but not the power outlet?, you never know?

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you replace the bulb of the rear tail lights. If it's faulty it won't work properly. The bulb is a double contact 12 volts. Have it replaced and you'll be good.

Are you charging the phone and using it while on and plugged in? You may be pulling more juice than the amps rating on the fuses can deliver.

Are you familiar on how to perform a current draw, by using a 12 volt test light? This will help isolate what circuit in your electrical is causing the draw, provided battery good, and alternator has been confirmed good. Simple to do, only takes your time, and a 12 volt test light, or any 12 volt bulb and socket you may have in the garage. Get back to me, for instructions if your not familiar with procedure.
One thing i will ask is, about the stereo, is it factory, or has someone changed it to aftermarket? That is a good place to start looking if it's not a factory stereo system. 12 volt plug in spots in interior are another, such as sockets for cell phone adapters to plug in etc.

You are not going to be able to perform this replacement scenario. Due to the fact that you are dealing with 2 different manufacturers, the wiring is different. There is no cable that is available to give you what you want.
Actually, there is a second component in the NAV system, that is what the unique cable plugs into. If you want to switch the NAVs , you need both components, and the correct wiring harness.

you have an electrical problem. take it to an electrical mechanic. it's a small problem but you need it fix. if the dealer is saying it is the duel adapter for the cell and gps then maybe it is pulling too much power? why all those surfs in the car then? foolishness. it's an electrical problem. make sure you ask if the mechanic is a electrical mechanic before he start work on the car. their are diffirent type of mechanics. trust me i had the problem before.

Even thought the plug in is 12 volt. It's ouput is different. Most electronics have different ranges from 3-9 volts.
Does the 12 volt charger put out 12 volts? If so, it would burn up the electronics' capacitors on their power supplies.
How is the car's electronics doing? Are they too failing? If so, that would be a faulty voltage regulator, if not, I would hook up anything you use to the radio wires.
You cannot plug in anything directly to battery no matter what the person told you. Batteries charge, than release charge, a contiuous cycle. The power output is speratic and anything hooked straight up to the battery will need a fuse.
