I turned my archos on and its stuck on the "archos entertainment your way" and i tried turning it on and off and resetting but same thing happened. it just stays on that screen. what should i do?
I have found a solution for this issue, if you hold down the volume button and the power button for several seconds the Archos goes into a restore type mode. You then plug it into your computer and download the latest firmware update and cut and paste it onto the archos removable hard drive icon that appears in my computer. It will take a few minutes to update but then it will work perfectly.
does this work with an archos 8o G9 tablet?

Keep it on charge about 5 hours and on the bottom of the unit there is a little hole try to reset it with a needle. and turn it back on
After the reset you need to do the adjustments again such as soung equalizer setup clock, time & date etc.
There is some amount of power need to load up the menu if there is not it gets stuck on welcome screen while you that screen in the background OS being loaded when there is not enough power and because battery runs out while in the process of loading it gets stuck on the "ARCHOS entertainment your way" screen and turns off. Make sure that when archos is not being used for a long time or when it shuts off for low power, to put it on charge at least 3 hours and do not use it while charging

No it doesn't work. i have done everything reset , hold the volume and on and off buttons.. don't recognize on my computer stays on Entertainment your way! any better solution please

No, i cant get this Archos 5 recognised by the computer either: I have tried restarting, charging, the REPAIR option, the FORMAT option, nothing works.
There must be some combination of resetting with the pin and doing the POWER-VOLUME thing in which you absolutely have to get some sequence right. But this isnt documented anywhere.

Archos 5 is stuck on "entertainment your way" screen and will not boot up after. I have tried charging, reset, reset push pin, repair, format, and the device is not recognized by my computer so I can't update anything to try to fix it. My Archos firmware was up to date prior to problem starting. Tried to contact Archos to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks?
