My archos 5 120GB won't turn on, it is charged

I tried reset button on bottom but it still won't turn on. It did it earlier today and finally came on, but not it's stuck on off again

Have you tried charging it with the dvr station, ur usb could b the problem. it may indicate that it is charged but not...

My Archos 5 250GB won't turn on beyond this: ARCHOS Entertainment your way. It was working very well, and all of a sudden after surfing with it, it did not want to turn off. I left it to turn off by itself. When it eventually turned off, it cannot turn on again beyond this: ARCHOS Entertainment your way. I have tried charging it with dvr station. Upon charging, the green light will turn on, and that is all. I have tried the reset button, but to no avail. Please can someone help me out here?

    hey man, that is exactly the same wih me! exactly the same, it just keep going "archos entertainment your way" goes to my background then cuts out!!

solution found!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so much for the support of the Archos team. here is what i did to repair my 504
if your "reset" button doesn't help at all, this is what you'll do.

If you power on the unit by pressing and holding the TV/LCD button and power
button simultaneously the unit will boot into a recovery screen. Once in this
screen choose "Repair Disk" and follow the on screen instructions.

When prompted, please place the following file into the 'root directory' of
the unit:

http://update.archos.com/4/a504/a504_r1.6.53/a504.aos

before i found this solution, i've already given up on my 504, but now it's back!!!! REBIRTH!!!

Brand new archos arnova 10 tablet. It is stuck on the charging screen. Won't turn on or off. Have hit the reset button. Didn't help, continues the same problem?
To hard reset a tablet, hold the power button down until it shuts off then press it to turn back on. Should take about 5 - 10 seconds for the device to power off.

First time charging up of archos 5.just the green light on it didnt say usb enable or charge only.archos logo keeps flashing on and off every few minutes.is this right. it has now been charging for about 4...
Your archos probably has a glitch in it. You might have to do a system recovery of it. First download the latest firmware program from Archos website. Here is a quick possible fix when the screen comes up reset the archos by inserting a paperclip in the reset hole located at the bottom of the unit right of the connectors it might work it might not. if that doesn't fix the problem do a hard reset when the logo screen comes up hold down the volume+ button until the white recovery page comes up. First try repairing the unit if that doesn't work try format and follow the instructions. the touch screen doesn't function during the recovery page so use the volume+&- buttons & power button. When you get done your archos should be set to factory presets so you have to set it up. Good Luck

Archos 504 comes on when plugged in briefly but no charge
I had the exact same problem, I looked a bit on the net and I found the answer. What you have to do is push the reset button when your archos isn't plugged on. The reset button is located behind the battery ( you'll have to the remove the battery ) near the pins that connects the archos to its battery. It looks like a gold circle and if you push it you'll see it's a button. After pushing the reset button try to put the battery on back again and replug your archos, it should work normally now.

Archos 5 frozen screen
I have found a solution for this issue, if you hold down the volume button and the power button for several seconds the Archos goes into a restore type mode. You then plug it into your computer and download the latest firmware update and cut and paste it onto the archos removable hard drive icon that appears in my computer. It will take a few minutes to update but then it will work perfectly.

Archos 604 wifi
Are you sure the battery is charged? If so, try detach and retach the battery. Also try to attach to your computer via the usb cable and the 604 should turn on by itself, if nothing happens you need to send back to Archos for repair.

Just watching a movie and my archos just froze in mid play , did a switch off to rest it and guess what it wont restart , ses ARCHOS in green at the start but wont reeboot have tried the reset button inside but no joy what so ever , any tips or advice 'or shall i just ship it back to Archos ....

Archos 605 in demo mode
We called tech support and you fix it by doing a reset on the base of the device. We used a paperclip to push the button. Hope this helps!
