    That file is camera assistant software. It can be found at

    C:\Program Files\Camera Assistant Software for Toshiba\CEC_MAIN.exe

    Sounds like the file is corrupted. go into Explorer and follow the path above and see if you can click on it to start it.

Clicking on it won't help, as you said 'the file is corrupted'. I would just uninstall 'Toshiba Camera Assistant' and redownload it from the internet if you need it. If you've never used it, don't worry about reinstalling it. It isn't nessisary.

I have Toshiba laptop with built in camera, but whenever i try to open the camera i recieve an error message 'CEC_Main.exe' reinstall. Kindly help how do i go about.

You also have Kasperkey ?
The error message 'CEC-MAIN.exe' is connected with the Camera Assistant Software,
You are unable to run the camera software because your KIS (Kasperkey Internet Security is blocking it by keeping "CEC-MAIN.exe" in the 'Untrusted File'.

Resolution:-

1) Launch your web browser

2) In the Notification Area (Down by your clock - Right click on the KIS icon and select "Pause Protection" > select "Resume manually"

3) In Notification Area: click on KIS icon elect "Applications under Control"

4) In the "Applications under Control" menu relocate "CEC-MAIN.exe" from the "Untrusted File" to the "Trusted File" - click "OK"

5) > Start > All Programs > CEC-MAIN icon to run your web camera program
Or My computer >> Local Disk (C) >> Program Files >> Camera Assistant Software Folder >> CEC-MAIN icon
Your webcam should now be running
Worth putting a shortcut on your Desktop at this stage .

6) With the webcam still running, then In notification Area - Right click on the KIS icon and select "Resume Protection"

7) Check the "CEC-MAIN.exe" in "Applications under Control" and confirm it is still in the "Trusted File"

8) Restart your computer

I am getting error message for win32 generic host data executor prevention

Here is my resolution to the error
SVCHOST.EXE GENERIC HOST PROCESS OR
DEP ERROR

IT DOES NOT INCLUDE
DISABLING WIA
OR
DISABLING DEP (which is a good security feature)

I have tried it on upto 3-4 computers with success and complete software functionality
*******************************************
Turn the All in One Off
Uninstall the whole of the HP software on the computer
Run a level 4 uninstall
Start --> Run -->X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall L1.bat
Start --> Run -->X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall L2.bat
Start --> Run -->X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall L3.bat
Start --> Run -->X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall L4.bat

Restart the computer
*******************************************
Check the computer on the restart
Check if you still get an SVCHOST.EXE GENERIC HOST PROCESS OR
DEP ERROR on restart

Start --> Run
Type in Msconfig
Click OK
Click Launch System Restore
Run System Restore
Create a Restore Point named Hp

Click Start --> Run
Type in Regedit
Click OK
Open Registry Editor
Scroll to the following Registry Key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentV
ersion\Explorer\
RemoteComputer\NameSpace\2227A280-3AEA-1069-A2DE-08002B30309D

Right click on this Key Click Export
On the Export Registry Window which comes up
Type Hpprinter as the filename and save it on the desktop

Get back to the same Registry Key
Right Click the Key and Click Delete to remove the key

Restart the computer
THERE SHOULD BE NO DEP ERRORS THIS TIME

(IF you have any issues after deleting the above key <possibility is remote> restore the computer back to the Hp restore point)

*******************************************

Reinstall the Hp printer Wirelessly or on a wired network now the usual way

Once the software installation finishes
Verify functionality

*******************************************
NOW
Right-Click My Computer, then click Properties.

On the Advanced tab, under Performance, click Settings.

On the Data Execution Prevention tab

Click Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select to select the OptOut policy, and then click Add to add the following programs

Create an exception in the DEP for the following programs by browsing to the correct location. The following list outlines the locations:

Hpcmpmgr.exe (x:\Program Files\HP\Hpcoretech\hpcmpmgr.exe)

HPwuSchd2.exe (x:\Program Files\HP\HP Software Update\hpwuSchd2.exe)

HP Digital Imaging Monitor (hpqtra08.exe) (x:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqtra08.exe)

HP Image Zone Fast Start (hpqthb08.exe) (x:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqthb08.exe)

Generic Host Process for Win32(svchost.exe)
(c:\windows\system32\svchost.exe)

Add all these files one by one by browsing to the locations

Click Apply and OK
Let the computer restart if prompted
******************************************

Its also at times needed to disable
from the Startup of the computer in Msconfig

Hpcmpmgr.exe
HPwuSchd2.exe
HP Digital Imaging Monitor (hpqtra08.exe)
HP Image Zone Fast Start (hpqthb08.exe)

The reason is the above mentioned exceptions to the Data Execution Prevention are loaded after the Startup loads and the DEP may try to shut them down at the startup itself and generate the errors
Unchecking the above files does not mean losing any functionality on the All in One all the features should work properly

Xppro on startup box appears with ref to Twonkymedia startup application error

A program that contained Twonkymedia was probably deleted. Even though it was deleted a reference remains in the start up files and when start up files are executed it can not find the program to start it thus "start up application error". To get rid of the error message you can remove the reference to the program in the start up menu or reinstall the program and let it execute normally on start up.

I have lost my Mapsource Setup cd for my Garmin GPS

  1. Download MapSource software updater from Garmin. The version as of December 4, 2007 is 6.13.6, and the trick also works on Map Source version 6.13.5.
  2. Unpack or extract the content of MapSource_6136.exe
    downloaded using WinRAR.
  3. From the extracted files, run MAIN.msi.
  4. Then, run Setup.exe. Note: The sequence to execute Main.msi and then Setup.exe is important to avoid “Previous MapSource not found!” error.
  5. Garmin MapSource now installed.

Error code.

Are you sure it doesn't say Frontpg.exe? I'm not familiar with Frontog.exe, but Frontpg.exe is the primary executable for Microsoft Frontpage.

If it is Frontpg.exe, the first thing I would suggest is to make sure you have any security updates available for your version of Frontpage. I believe you can update that at http://microsoft.update.com as part of Windows Update.

I haven't been able to find any knowledge base articles on this particular error. See if you have all the most recent patches - if not, download the newest ones and see if that helps. If it doesn't help, let me know and I'll try to dig deeper.
