SOURCE: Which anti virus can i use for my laptop. i have

hi,

some anti-virus programs you want to try:

Avira Professional
A-squared Free

to secure system use a seperate firewall :

zonelab
online armour

if you already have an infected sytem, want to remove the viruses
and cannot proceed while installing any of the above programs,
the worm/ virus may prevent the programs from installing(had that problem before)
to solve this, copy all the data you want to keep on a separate
CD or thumb drive, then try finding an online virus scan program which will tell you exactly the name of the virus and by chance erase it.
take down the path of the infected files
(if they don't get erased, you can manually erase and replace them later)

I don't know how much of your system is infected, but if you cannot exactly find out where you caught it and there is too much infected, destroyed or malfunctioning, you may have to set up your whole system again. Before doing so, back-up all valual data(files, music, savegames, texts etc.), make sure you have all the programs and drivers(!) for the devices u have installed on a clean CD/thumb drive plus a installation CD of Windows, then format the harddisk and set up the new system.

this may take some time but will prevent that any previous virus/or malware has remained hidden in some file and gives you the chance to get to know your system and to secure it better than before! good luck

Remove virus

Insert your USB drive in the appropriate USB slot in your computer.
If the Autoplay dialog box appears, select "Take No Action" and click the "OK" button.
Launch your anti-virus program, such as AVG Antivirus or Anti Malware.
Select the USB drive for the program to scan.
Click the "Start Scan" button or option.
Open the scan history for the USB drive when the scan is complete to see a list of viruses and warnings identified by the antivirus software.
If desired, select the options to "Heal All Infected Files" or "Move the Infected Files to the Virus Vault" to ensure these files are quarantined from your system.
Highlight each infected file in the scan history.
Write down the file name of each infected file identified on the USB drive.
Minimize the application's window.
Select "Run" from the Windows "Start" menu. In the Run window, type "e:/" at the command prompt to switch to your USB drive (or type the drive letter for your USB drive).
Press the Enter key.
Type "attrib -s -h -r -a *.*" at the command prompt to remove the system, hidden, read-only and archive file attributes.
Press the Enter key.
Type "del ####.+++" where "####" is the file name of the infected file and "+++" is the file extension, at the command prompt line.
Press the Enter key.
For example, "del terriblevirus.exe" will specifically delete the Terrible Virus executable file. Repeat for each infected file on your list identified in Step 4.
Close the command prompt window; that is, exit the Run utility.

If AVG can't heal the virus, you need another program. Try this one:

http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

It's Malware Bytes' Anti-malware. It is very effective when AVG fails.

Virus Worm/VB.DKT

I prefer AVG all the time and i recommended it to so many frineds too ..but sometimes its really hard to break a virus code. Anyways one solution i always use. Unistall AVG from your system, if your system is running fine right now download Norton Trial version. It has full fledged features for 15 days. Use this Trial version to remove the virus and then uninstall it
Reinstall AVG again
You can try other antivirus like Avast, McCaffee etc in same way in place of norton
Hope it helps !!
If nothing works try to restore your system in some back date in safe mode.
Good luck !!

A Virus problem

Turn off system restore and try running AVG in safe mode as this stops any trojans from running, hence stopping any removal of the file. When the trojan has been deleted turn system restore back on.
