Picture problems I have a 32 inch citizen tv and for the last month there has been lines on the top of the screen. Now it seems like the area is getting bigger. everyday it seems like its getting worse. It almost seems like the screen is flipping over on itself?? HELP!!

Generally this is not good news. Even in the event this TV is repaired, it will work very long. This TV has a horizontal problem. This is the most stressed area of any conventional TV. The Horizontal Output Transistor will need replace, the flyback transformer is bad, you have bad power supply with horizontal capacitors that are bad, and last, is a possible bad picture tube. This TV is not worth the effort or money to repair. Thanks for asking and show all hands of support!

Hi andrew, its not a big problem.. Decent TV. but the pixels are DEAD. that means you have to recover them by fixing the LCD. this would cost you around £40-60 for a 32 inch TV. hope this helps!

You have some bad grounds on the Vertical IC. In addition to this, in the immediate area of this Vertical IC, are a few bad capacitors. Look for this IC mounted on a large heatsink. It may have seven pins . I cannot remember for sure. I have not worked on this particular TV, so I cannot give you specific locations. But I assure the problem is in this area! If you have some electrical experience you can pull this board out. In this case only the caps need replaced and the IC resoldered. Good Luck and thank you for asking. Go to Vizio website and buy the extending warranty, you need to have your TV replaced since the problem is with the screen itself.

Hi I had the same problem. Broken white lines across the top of the screen. This is called overscan. You need to go into the Setup menu, other settings. 16:9 overscan needs to be on. Hope this helps.It solved our problem.

If you have a TV shop at all any more in your area, any tech working on them will know where to look. This is a pretty common problem although you are getting it too early.
Since it will require a certain type of instrument (capacitance meter) to verify the problem part, I don't want to go into detail concerning a 'do-it-yourself' repair since it may be a little difficult to order these in single quantities and a decent shop should have the right value on hand.

It shouldn't cost too much.

Typical symptom of a faulty screen voltage capacitor. You'd need a schematic to locate the cap and then change it out.

sound like you have 1 or a couple of leaky/bad capacitors in the tv's vertical circuit, typically, there sould be 5 to 10 caps. in all, but you just need 1 bad one to cause your problem. good luck.
