Radio audio working but no audio from CD. Shows cd playing but no

I installed a CDX-CA850 in my grand jeep cherokee. The radio works fine but when I put a cd in, there is no audio. It shows the player playing the cd and you can see the track name and the sound meters going up and down but you cant hear anything in the car. When you switch back to radio, you can hear the radio no problem. And this stereo only came with the joystick remote not the square remote. Has anyone had this problem and know how to fix it?

Radio in 2003 jeep grand cherokee does not play cd's. it plays the radio stations, volume works, but it does not eject the cd or even recognize it .

you can look for a radio shop to repair the cd player it would be cheaper to install a aftermarket radio they do have kits if you have steering wheel controls

99 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Radio and tape player works fine. Inserted 10-cd magazine and can hear cd's loading, but no light display on radio when cd button pushed. Is this fixable?

yes but why fix a 12 year old player ? something else will just go wrong after that heck cd players are cheap today and fit right in that opening

Radio works but cd plays with no sound

you probably have your amp hooked up to your power antenna remote. there should be another blue wire (probably blue with a white stripe) that is for amp remote.

2006 grand cherokee cd player dont work

There are two power sources for your radio...one is full time and powers the clock, the other is on the accessory side...only hot with key on. check that power supply. Remember...fuses dont wear out...they blow for a reason. If you find a faulty fuse replace it...if it blows again, it is because there if a fault somewhere.

DO NOT HAVE NAVIGATION CD FOR MY 2004 JEEP CHEROKEE LIMITED

got mine off ebay for a decent price.  you can also order through the dealership.  if you order a newer one (make sure it is for the jeep) it will make some minor changes (upgrades) to your radio.

My 1998 Jeep Cherokee cd player does not work, displays "error when cd inserted, the radio works fine, can it be repair?

it will read burnt cds, the only thing is that it will not play .mp3  format songs, if you can somehow change the format to something else it should work just fine. i had a friend who's car had the same problem and switching the file extension from .mp3 to something else like .mpeg or something else should work. the cd player in a 98 grand cherokee is older and does not have .mp3 play back on it so it cannot read .mp3 format files. that's the only reason it doesnot register. try different audi files out and it should work. give it a try. i hope that helps out some.

Sony cdx -m8800

Remove the radio, disconnect the blue wire, and connect the blue/white wire in its place. This should fix your problem.
