Kenmore 90 plus series spin dry is not working

I have a Kenmore 90 plus series washer that is not spin drying the cloths. I hear the motor going i think. The water is draining out, but not getting the excess water out of the cloths before they go to the dryer.

The wash cycles are working.

There is a part between the moter and something else and i can turn it by hand when I lay it over on its side.

I have a Kenmore elite washer Model #: 23012100. Everything works fine until the spin cycle. Then it starts making this whining sound as if the gears are trying to work but can't. Any suggestions on what the problem could be and if it can be repair "easily"?

Kenmore 90 Series washer needs two spins to remove water

We have exact same washer. It is 11 years old. We are at a point where we have to spin it 7 times and then still isn't too dry. It dies yesterday a very loud death. Mentioning this here because it could be a foreshadowing of your Kenmore 90's future.

Kenmore 90 series

you can look at the water pump inlet and outlet hoses. sometimes socks and other small items would be sucked in and blocked the water from going out.

another theory would be the clutch on the spin cycle is slipping that is why the drum is not spinning as fast as it should.
