Kenmore 90 series noise after spin

I have a Kenmore 90 series washer model 20902990 which works fine except for after the spin cycle it makes a loud thumping noise. It looks like the drum keeps spinning and slows down gradually after the spin cycle. I can move the drum with no cloths inside and it still makes the thumping sound. Any suggestiions to this direct drive Kenmore? HOw do I take the cabinet off a Kenmore top loading series 70 washing machine
