Hi,
I am getting an error message that will not go away stating, "install the waste toner box and close all doors"
but the waster toner box is installed and all doors are closed.
I've also tried turning off the power.
Any thoughts?
Thank you!
TRY THIS
turn the machine off from main switch on bottom right and hold down the UTILITY BOTTON AND TURN MACHINE ON
This is a VERY common issue with most waste toner bottles and it is EXTREMELY easy to fix. Most technicians always ASSUME that you have made sure to CLEAN the spot where the copier senses the height of the wasted toner within the waster toner bottle. When you dump out the old waste toner it clings to the side of the bottle all the way up the neck and even over this sensor area. Look very closely at the waste toner bottle and you'll see a small area that has a designated spot where it is able to "peer" through to the other side. A Sensor looks through this spot and if it can't see clearly through it ASSUMES the toner waste bottle is full. Get a "DRY" cloth and gently clean the residue of toner from the ENTIRE area on both sides where the sensor peers through and then CLEAR the machine error code and restart with CLEANED waste toner bottle installed and your troubles should go away.
If this does not work, then perhaps you have made enough of a mess that the outside of the toner bottle was covered in toner and it rubbed of onto the ACTUAL SENSORS themselves. Get a good flashlight and OBSERVE carefully inside the machine where the waste toner bottle sits, and look at the EXACT location where the Sensor should be in order to peer through the container. There you should see an OPTIC looking sensor. Check to ensure this is CLEAN by using a "DRY" non-abrasive and lint free cloth to clean. Preferably use a WHITE colored cloth so you can observe any dark toner residue from your wiping it off. Continue to wipe off with a NEW SPOT on the WHITE cloth until ALL toner residue is gone and your WHITE cloth appears COMPLETELY clean..... :)

There are tabs on the back of box that block the sensors. if you look at the wall behind the box you will see slots that match the tabs. the one that breaks off is a little tab with a point on it. Fold up paper and insert it in to the slot on the lower leftside. Reinsert the box to adj the paper.

Your solution did show me how to reset the copier, so thank you for that, but unfortunately, even after I reset it, the error message persisted. Thank you!

And by monday i have to deliver 8000 prints....

This message occurs when the waste toner box is full. You need to replace the waste toner box with a new one, and the message will go away.
