TV shuts off on its own and wont come back on until unpluged.
I have a RCA d52w23yx31 some more #s are( F333C107A ) & ( ITC222 ) While watching the TV after about 10 minutes or so the TV will turn itself off. It will not come back on unless it is un-plugged. The TV repeats the same problem. The power light will constantly blink on and off steady. No pause or intermitance. The power light flashes green. Help would be great.

the chasis number of your tv is eithor itc222 or itc221 the deflection board causes most of the problems part number 258762 part discontinued but you can contact eithor pts electronics or tristate module to see if they can fix yours
If this RCA TV has a Chassis number of ITC222 then you need to call a tech to swap out the deflection circuit board for a new or rebuilt board. This RCA Chassis is a TV Techs worst nightmare to repair.
I believe this may be a HV/LV power supply problem since this is a common issue in this RCA ITC222 chassis, I posted this earlier and I beleive that it can help you,
Hello This is a common problem with the ITC222 chassis, I would check CP120, CP140, CP150 to see if they are bad I suspect CP150 is the one that is bad. Its value is 2200uf 16VDC. It is located on the same board as the IHVT and is in between the Heat sink in the middle of the board.
I would also like to say that if possible you should get a qualified TV Technician to repair this set for you, due to the nature of this problem and the dangerous voltages present.
I hope this helps,
three strikes and it's out... rca does this, it is just showing it has tried 3 times for you and untill it is unplugged it won't try again.. you need to provide model #.. could be a few different things
hissing usually meens you have high voltage...that's good but then what don't you have?
ctc 169 - 179 could be high voltage divider... need more info
Hello. You have a Rca d52w20 this is what is known as a itc222 chasis. and i see this set alot at our shop. The first thing that you can do is to unplug and wait 30 min to hour and replug the set in. this essetian\lly resets the processor. ( I have never seen this work) but is the first thing we do. THe most likely cause for this will be what is called the horizontal output transistor and flyback transformer in which a technician can replace these components. This set has a processor that will shut the unit down for any of about 25 different reasons for safety. so there is no warning it eather works or dont. technicans have special test equipment that read error codes much like those in cars. this is ussally the first thing that i do.to help start troubleshooting. WARNING this set genrates high voltages that stay with the set even after unpluged. so please be careful. Now this is the bad news on these sets. u have to determine if this set is worth it. averge repairs at my shop run 250 to 500 and if one of the tubes is damaged that can run 800+ these set sold for 800 at walmart.
Intermitant problem idicates eather a component finally failing maybe overheating or a bad connection somewhere. IS the unit compltely dead now... NO green light flashing. or on no sounds clicks or smells. The rca ITC222 is known for shutdown. THe processor "sees" any problem at all it will shut it down for safety. You did what u first do that is unplug it and try again. Now the troubleshooting begins. Technicians have computer test equipment that can read errors from the processor. SO what is it doing now.
this particular rca also know as a itc222 chasis has a safety shutdown cuircit.. if it detect any problem. high voltage. over current over voltage ..one of 20 problems. it will shut down. if the unit tries to come on that idicates its more than just a fuse. first question u ask is after the set been unplug for 30 minites then plug back up does the set come on or try to come on does the led light flash on the front. does it try to come on 3 times then shut down. there is special diagnostic equipment techs used to read errors recorded in the processor.
rca? d61w130 itc222 ..does the unit flash green led.
itc222 shut down if the processor detects a problem. can be many different things. horizontal output is first thing to check. any sounds, chirps, smell... did it ever work
