Let me research this a little more for you as the access points run different than routers. Steve
Fiasco is correct :( I only run Vista to help people like yourself. Can't wait for Windows 7 I think, lol. Right clicking to run as admin is really helpful to know. It's silly to get permission to your own computer!
Click into the address bar and use the cursor to backspace the unwanted part of the url.
Feel free to post back here as you need assistance :) Steve
Also, the last Belkin router I had was great but resetting back to default required holding the reset for literally a whole minute!
God Bless America :) I am glad that you "cracked" your AP! Soon you will be here working :) Steve

thanks for the help. Here is a rundown....when i connect my CPU to the router and the router through my cable modem I can not access the internet. however when i go straight from the modem to the CPU the internet runs fine.
So far I have done a reset of the router......tried to access the firmware menu using http://192.168.2.1 use the ES install software available on the belkin website and so far no luck.
Any new ideas would be appreciated..
It is model F5D7230-4 Wirelsess G router...the documentation you were referring to states it can only be used in conjunction with model F5D7130 to create a wireless bridge....It seems that I have learned more than I want to about this wireless router LOL. THis thing has worked before from the guy i got it from but he was running an older version of Windows not this Vista fiasco.
when i put the address in the http:// automatically comes in front of it...how do i stop that from happening??
oh my god....i just got into the firmware menu!! I am not sure how but i did...now i have to figure out how to connect to the internet from there. my god it is a start!
7130 or 7230? That pdf link I sent shows a physical layout aside from the config access. In the browser it doesn't want the whole url (http:// like I suggested) most routers do.
Is this the correct model listed above? Says here that it is an access point http://cache-www.belkin.com/support/dl/w...
One minute while I bring up that router config here. I am Steve and welcome.
