The wrong code on the remote has been used. Though some codes will work parts of the system only the right code will operate all.
If you don't know the code for the TV, then you will have to try ALL the codes until you find one that operates all the controls.
Some sound bars have a seperate power cord, did you plug it in. Also, the source for the sound, are you using the audio outputs and not the audio inputs. They are all the same color (red and white) so you may have plugged in the wrong ones. If the sound bar is getting power, say a green led and the source for it is the tvs audio ouput jacks you might have to see if there is a seperate remote for the sound bar and raise the volume. Lastly the tvs audio output might have a seperate setting, it could be fixed or variable. Fixed will only change volume with the sound bar remote. In variable you will be able to change the volume with the tv remote but first you have to raise the sound bar level. Hope this helps in some way.
Hello, my name is Michael Hurst with DISH Network. Sounds like the remote isn't programmed to your TV. You could use a remote code for your TV. To give you the correct remote code we would need to know the manufacture of your TV and the model of remote you have. You can also try a Power Scan and cycle through different codes that are available. Here are the steps for a Power Scan: Withthe desired equipment on, press and hold the correct Mode button until all modebutton backlights illuminate, then release. Press and release the Power button. AUX Mode: Before pressingand releasing the Power button. Press 0 for a TV, Press 1 for a VCR/DVD andPress 2 for any other device. Then Press STAR (*). Press the Up button once asecond while pointing the remote at the desired equipment. If the code for theequipment comes up, the equipment will power off. Press the POUND (#) button. Ifthe code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times.
Try the volume button if this works the volume then press SELECT. If it doesnt then press TV and try the volume button again. Repeat this step until the volume works then dont forget to press the SELECT button to save the code to the remote.
try the volume if this works then press SELECT to save the code. If not then press TV again then the volume. repeat this step until the volume works then press the SELECT button to save the code.
The TV's front panel may be bad, manual buttons. TEMPT FIX; remove speaker, cloth covered, cover, disconnect cables. TV will work but only with remote.
Sounds like you have a jammed / shorted out button on the control panel... Try un-plugging the tv, and then unplug the "button panel" on the front of the tv...see if you can turn the tv on with the remote. Sometimes if one of the buttons gets shorted, it will "lock" the processor from doing ANYTHING else, as it thinks you are holding down the defective button. If this works, simply have the defective switch or control panel replaced, or just leave it unplugged and use the remote only! Hope this helps!
