The little latch on the door part was broken, so we bought the correct part and installed it. It's only held on by a couple of screws and seemed simple enough, but when we try and close the door, the latch won't catch and the door stays open. Any help?

Door won't unlock
Did all of the water drain out of the washer during the spin? Select DRAIN & SPIN to remove any water remaining in the washer. The washer door will unlock at the end of the drain.
Is the door locked and is the "Add Garment" light on? Press START/PAUSE once. The door will unlock.

SOURCE: My amana front load washer

Hello,
The ND error code means NO DRAIN, why it comes up is because the computer thinks that within the normal times it takes to drain the water from the tub it hasnt drained in that time.
Things that will cause it to not drain in the normal time is oversudsing becuase too much detergent was added.
Or something such as lint in the drain pump filter screen restricting the water flow into the pump

SOURCE: amana front load washer error code "nd". Door is

Hello there and welcome to fixya
From what you're describing it sounds like the drain pump is blocked. The nd error code indicates "no drain". If the unit can't drain it won't spin. You're going to have to slide the washer out far enough to remove the rear panel; be careful not to damage the floor. Once you get the rear panel off you will see the pump. Be sure to have plenty of towels & a small container to catch water. I am sending you instructions from the service manual to remove and replace the pump. Another possibility is the drain line is blocked or something is stuck in the tub to pump hose.

SOURCE: Door won't open and is jammed.

We have an electronic Sears front load model with which that happened. . If this is a Sears machine contact the service number located in your manual and they should be able to talk you through it. For us it ended up being a door switch that had become misaligned. Make sure the machine spins the water out of the tub before you try to open the door if it is a front loader.

Fisher and paykell nemo dishwasher Nemo model 820. Continuously beeps when the start or any other button is pushed. Will not start

I had a similar problem with my Fisher and Paykel Nautilus 920 (same product line more or less as yours). Here's what I discovered was wrong, and how I fixed it ...

Hidden inside the plastic panel at the top of the door, where the operating buttons for the dishwasher are) is is a little switch connected to the door latch that has a blue wire and a cream coloured wire attached to it. What was wrong in mine was the cream coloured wired had become brittle and broken off from the switch. If I pressed any button, all I got was 4 rapid beeps (no error code on the display or anything like that, just the 4 beeps).

If you open the dishwasher door and look inside around the top, you'll see about 6 star shaped screws. These hold the control panel on. You'll need a special screwdriver bit to undo these (luckily I had the right one in a cheap mini screwdriver set I got from eBay that's useful for electronics and computers).

Undo those screws and gently prise the control panel off. (Poke something in the door to stop it from closing completely while you are doing all of this). Check the switch in the middle near the door latch to see if the two wires are still properly attached. In my case the cream one had broken off and fallen back inside the door, but I was able to catch it and fish it out with a pair of kitchen tongs. I used sticky tape to tape it (and the blue one) to the door while I was working so neither of them could fall back inside.

I stripped a bit more plastic off the top of the cream wire then soldered it back onto its connector, then reattached it, along with the blue one, to the back of the door latch switch (take note of which colour goes on which part of the switch before you begin).

Probably the trickiest bit was reassembling the control panel back on. There is a little plastic thing that covers the LED display part that always wants to fall out if you try to do this with the door in the upright position, plus you have to ease the panel back on properly so that the push buttons all line up with the outer flexible covering. I found it easier to lay on my back with the door almost fully open to gently tease things back into position. Also, check that the door latch works smoothly (without closing the door - just squeeze it up and down and makes sure the operation 'feels right'). Once everything is in place, redo the little screws and hopefully you are good to go again!

Ive had this dishwasher for 14 years now and had virtually decided that I would have to buy a new one until I discovered what the problem was and how relatively simple it was to fix. Hope this info helps you or someone else! :)

Door open light will not go off after door is shut tight

there are sensors in the door latches themselves and over time they accumulate dirt and start to stick you can spray a little wd40 into the latch and then work the latch from open to close to do this use a screw driver hold the outside door handle open while working the screw driver into the latch open and closed you may have to repeat the process couple of times if it doesnt then the latch will need replaced

1998 Ford F150 supercab - passenger side door won't open

Get inside the backseat remove two screws that hold the side window. Gently pull the top plastic panel out all around and the panel will come out. It is held by about six clips. Then remove the screws and a nut off the bottom panel. These are all at the top of the bottom panel. Remove a couple of screws thatholds the inside doorl latch. Once all out then simply lift up on the bottom panel and it will come out. Remove the plastic sheet that overs the side door underneath the panel. Now you can see the whole mechanisim for the unlatch. On my truck the problem was with the top cable going into the latch mechanisim. The top cable came loose, out of the slot that held it in place. I pit it back into the slot and made a metal clip to keep it in place. If your interested I can add picture of the clip. Reassembled the door and was done in about three hours.

I replaced the door latch on my whirlpool dryer and when I turn it on and it runs for a couple of minutes the dryer pops open

Hi Don,
This could be as simple as an alignment of the latch. It just may be that it isn't catching properly. See if you can loosen the screws/bolts and settle the latch a little closer to the closure. That should solve you trouble

My rear hatch door will not open, I am looking for a manual way to open the rear hatch? and a solution to this problem. also looking for a detailed manual for the fuse box.as I am wondering if the read...

I think some of the Durangos have this as a regular fault. The only way to open the door is to gain access to the latch inside the door panel. You will need a cross head screw driver and a flat head screw driver. As well as a flashlight and some WD40.
Drop the rear seats and empty the trunk as you are going to have to sit in it to do this. Carefully remove the upper window trim. It is clipped in so it should pull free with a bit of patience and effort. This should reveal two cross head screws, one each side. Remove these. The lower trim panel should ease out far enough for you to see, using the flashlight, the release latch at the bottom of the door. The latch is connected to the handle by a rod so follow it down to find the latch. The trigger arm moves up and down.
Using the flat screw driver and using the handle connecting rod as a guide, push the latch trigger down. Applying light pressure to the tailgate might help it let go.
You may need to disconnect the rod at the top to get enough slack to move the latch release. I think it just hooks out with a small screw driver.
Once the tailgate is open you can then fully remove the lower trim to get better access for repairs.

I have a Frigidaire front load washer that won't spin. I wanted to check out if I can fix it before calling a service tech. Customer Service suggested running the washer using bleach, empty of clothes,...

There are two parts. The door latch and the door switch. The door latch should be held on by 2 screws and screwed to the door. It has a bayonette that sticks out and when you close the door, it activates a door switch and also latches and keeps the door closed during operation.
You can order the part online from any appliance parts place or get one locally. The door switch is harder to replace and usually you have to remove the top and reach down to remove it. Its a tight area and a little difficult to work with.
You can check your drum to see if it is binding by reaching inside and attempting to rotate the drum by hand. If it will turn without too much effort, I would say the drum and bearings are fine.
Without getting into too much detail, you may have a bad motor or a broken belt. You can remove the lower panel by removing two screws and looking at the back and seeing if you have a broken belt. It may be a good idea to have someone look at it if you don't think you are capable or know someone who is.
Hope this helps

Thermador oven door won't close all the way - seems like the seal is holding it open. I can press and hold it closed, but if I release, it pops out. The oven light stays on all the time. Model smw272

Have exactly the same situation. All the solutions I have seen talk about replacing the hinges or seal. But people report the same thing happens a month later. Looking hard at the door what it needs is something to pull it right at the top. So I installed a rare earth magnet from www.kjmagnetics.com I used part number BX884DCS which costs $4. It mounts with a couple of screws and I put it on the door a couple of inches down from the top.
Its possible that heat from the oven will kill the magnet over time but for $4 I can replace it for a lot less than hinges and it works great. The door closes more securely than it ever did when the oven was new.
Hope this helps.

Latch problem

My wife did the same thing to my truck. I am a bodyman so I know your problem. The Latch mech that is held by the 3 screws you mentioned needs to be replaced. The release leaver that engages your door strycker is not returning to the correct position when you press the door button. the inside door leaver activates the mech from a different position and has more throw so it often releases. Unfortunately the latch is very expensive at least I think so!
it is a bit complicated to exchange so get someone who has done it a few times... not much room in there to connect the leavers. Phil

GE front load washer WSXH208v1ww door latch

Unfortunately, the "door latch assembly" is what you would need. It comes with a new concrete front tub counter weight which is redesigned to not be able to contact the door latch switch on out of balance spins. It is also a lot of work to replace. (you can not get just the little plastic part) Please don't rate this solution, as anything but a Fix-Ya lowers my score, and I know you don't want to shoot the messenger.
