SOURCE: Waste toner near full?

You can empty the waste chamber on the image unit by removing the screw from both ends of the unit, pull the ends off and empty it out. It's a messy job so have a good plastic bag and a toner vacuum if possible. The message might stay on awhile but will disappear with time. The alternative is a new image unit.$$$$$$

C7 990 error code Kyocera km 1500 ??

Earlier FIXYA question suggested the waste toner container is full and needs to be emptied.

Other questions on FIXYA described the location of the waste toner container, by opening the front door, and looking for the white plastic box next to the toner cartridge. Be prepared for it to spill and need to carefully empty it.

Message on screen says "Waste Toner Box Full"

Typically you will need to replace the waste toner box. There is usually a difficult to access part of the bottle that is used by an optic sensor to tell when the box is full. Plus toner is very fine and you do not want it getting into the air. Toner will pass through the filter of most vacuums and go back into the air.

ERREUR MACHINE CODE C7990

The waste toner container is located inside the drum unit. This code means the drum unit is full. To empty there are two caps that can be opened and the waste toner can be emptied. Usually the waste gets full when the unit is very close to be replaced. You may be able to get some more time if you empty it, but you will probably need to replace the unit soon.

Hi, I have kyocera km c850D. Please could you explain why machine keeps saying replace waste toner box although it is quite empty. please advise if tere are any other parts of the machine to clean or...

Are you using a new waste toner container or did you empty the one that was already in the machine?

The machine uses a sensor that looks at the container to determine if it is full of waste toner. If there is toner on the inside sides of the container were it looks for toner it will indicate that it needs to be replaced even if you have emptied the toner out.

It is a good practice to replace the waste toner container with a new one, that is the way the machine is meant to be used.

If you have correctly installed a new waste toner container and the message hasn't cleared you may have a faulty sensor.

I hope this information is helpful,
Shawn

Waste toner gets full before toner runs out

Actually, the waste toner should get full sometime before the regular toner runs out in laser printers that have several toner cartridges compared to the single waste toner reservoir.

You can dump the toner reservoir out and avoid buying the empty waste toner 'reservoir.'

I did this on my Brother Laser printer and saved about $30 or so for an empty plastic waste toner bottle or jar.

If this is the way the Kyocera-4020DN is, then I would put the waste toner, which is just that, waste, and put it into a plastic zip loc storage bag and throw it away. Don't breath the toner.

Good luck on this repair.

I have a message that says "waste toner box almost full" I cannot find the waste toner box. can you tell me where it is? The copier is a Kyocera KM-8030. thank you Frances

After looking on the net if your printer is under warranty, you should call Kyocera Service Rappresentative or an Authorised Service Centre as Kyocera is not releasing how to empty or clear the waste toner box and if you do you will woid the warranty.
