SOURCE: Keypad not working during phone call

If sounds like DTMF is turned off on your phone. If it is then it is not sending the correct tone over the air which is why nothing happens. Go into setting, then to initial setup and key down toward the bottom and you should see DTMF if it is off change it to short or long and that should correct you problem.

Internet connot display web page all the time , and slow download speeds, modem adsl light coming on constantly.

Dealt with a lot of these. It is either :

1. Wrong password and ISP information - double check that everything your ISP has asked you to put in is correct

2. Bad phone connection - even if the ADSL light comes on (which means the router can see an ADSL connection from your phone provider) does not mean the line is clean. Pull out all the connections to your home phone, and just plug in the router to get it all up and running. Once happy reconnect one at a time all phones, digi boxes etc.

3. Adding to 2. - have you got a splitter? If so, change your splitter or reconnect, splitters can fail quite easily and get old fast - a bad splitter creates a lot of noise on the line, making the internet time out

It could be a router fault, they last about 4 years before they start doing silly things. But likely one of the above.

Try two sites once you are happy :

www.speedtest.net - to check your connection speed
www.pingtest.net - to check line quality

I have a 2-wire modem but the net will not work while plugged into a phone jack in another room. It does work when I move my desk top and connect to the jack, which is a PAIN. What do I need to do?

Not quite sure I understand this. Your modem (do you mean modem as in dial-up or do you mean ADSL router as in broadband?) works in one room but not in another. But your desktop works when plugged into the same jack!
please confirm that you are using broadband and not dial-up as the above makes no sense. Broadband is tied to a specific phone line & number. Dial-up works on any phone line.

I have a DSL502T ADSL Router, and have bought a new emachines computer. I can not connect to the internet. The computer has a wireless connection loaded but I want to connect by dailup Please could you help...

You are a bit confused with the various components required for Internet connections.
If you have a dial-up connection with an Internet Service Provider, all you do is connect your computer's modem port to the phone line and dial the phone number of your Internet Service provider.
If you are connected to the Internet Servise Provider by ADSL and have a combined ADSL router and modem then you connect the phone line to this router/modem. If the ADSL modem is separate component then the phone line is connected to the ADSL modem and this modem is connected to the router with a LAN cable and the computer is connected to the router with another LAN cable. If the route is wireless and the computer has a wireless card then you don't need a LAN cable between the router and the computer.
If you are connected to the Internet by ADSL, to secure your Internet connection and configure your computer so it can connect to the Internet, please follow my instruction - click on this link :-

Wireless facility does not work LED does not illuminate. I have tried to get access to web site

The connection to your modem could be faulty.
Ring your ISP and get them to test the connection to your ADSL modem.
Also do you have ADSL line filters on all your phones?
The phone connection to the ADSL modem does NOT use a ADSL filter.

My ex-next door neighbour has recently flitted 20 miles south. He can no longer connect to the Internet via his BT Voyager ADSL Router. I think he has lost an essential connection during the removal. In...

Your ex-next door neighbour needs to contact his Internet Service Provider to get a new ADSL connection linked to his new phone line. The original ADSL connection is tied to his old phone line/number and it will not work in his new location. Each ADSL connection is setup at the local telephone exchange and tied to that phone line/number..
If his Internet Service Provide does not operate nor can provide an ADSL service in his new area then he needs to find a new Internet Service Provider.

If the Internet light is off then there is a problem with the phone line to the ADSL modem or the modem is faulty or there is a problem at the telephome exchange.
Disconnect the phone cable at the ADSL modem and connect a phone handset to this cable - check for a dial tone and that you can dial out.
If you don't get a dial tone, use a different or new phone cable.
If the phone line is OK then : -
Ring your ISP to get them to test your connection to your ADSL
modem.

I cant connect to two computers at the same time

How to connect....

1- Two Computers:

# We are connect two computers together to share Internet, printer, scanner, files, and even programs

We can do it through either way:

1- Use A Crossover Cable And Two Network Cards. Two network cards are installed in two computers. Then use crossover cable to connect them.

2- Use a Phone Line and Two Special Adapters Sold as "Phone line network Kit". Two adapters are installed in two computers. Then use existing Phone line to connect them.

Connecting Two Computers Wirelessly:

1- Wi-Fi
2- Bluetooth
3- Infrared

Several types of fixtures exist for home networking:

1- Hubs
2- Switches
3- Routers

2- Computer with the internet

Before you can connect to the Internet and access the World Wide Web, you need to have certain equipment. In brief, you must have:

-A computer (preferably running an up-to-date operating system); -
-A modem and access to a telephone line or a local area network (LAN) that is in turn connected to the Internet; and connection software that will allow you to establish an account with a service provider and access the Internet

You Need:

Modem: This converts your digital computer information into analogue telephone signals. Phone Line: his may be your biggest expense after the equipment.

Internet Service Provider (ISP): ISP has a permanent connection to the Internet.

ADSL: a newly standardized transmission technology facilitating simultaneous use of normal telephone services, data transmission of 6 Mbit/s in the downstream and Basic-rate Access (BRA).

ADSL facilitates the simultaneous use of normal telephone services, ISDN, and high speed data transmission.

Another advantage of having an ADSL line is not missing calls while you're online, as both voice and data can be transferred at the same time.

HOW CAN I CONECT NETGAR ROUTER TO NTL MODEM

Hi,
I want to tell you that this router is a ADSL router and it will only work with the adsl line or you can say through phone line. You required to connect adsl filter in order to use this router. This router will not work if you are using the with any kind of modem. Beacause this router is already have inbuilt modem as well as it will performs all functions for the router. So with this router you dont required any other modem. But still if you want to use this router. The only ways is make it as a access point so that you can use this router as a access point and it will broadcast the signals to your wireless computers.

I believe this information will help you to resolve your query.

Thanks & Regards

Several Router problems

It sounds like an ADSL signal strength issue. Test that it is not a problem with the ADSL phone cable setup, using the shortest ADSL/Phone cable you can find (under 1Meter is best)unplug all other phone line using devices and filters from the wall jack points and test the routers connection again as the only device plugged in(this is Isolation testing) If the issue replicates itself under isolation testing conditions then ring your ISP providor and request that the "ADSL signal voltage" needs to be increased slightly as your router is not hearing the ADSL signal properly. If the issue doesn't replicate itself under isolation test conditions, you are either using an old or bad ADSL/Phone cable or your cable is too long (should not be longer than 5meters)or if you are using a wall socket/splitter for direct adsl access (without filters)then test the socket with a filter to verify the socket/splitter is not the cause of the problem, if you do use phone filters, during isolation testing, test each of the filters individualy with the router and see if the disconnection issue is replicated if so replace the bad filter the disconnection issue was being caused by phone signal interferance. Your third request requires you to setup the LAN info on the windows side of your connection not the wireless card, this can be verified by searching for websites via thier IP address which will work, when searching via their website name wont, DNS resolution issue, it is probably best practice to use MAC Addressing for your wireless setup though.
