Sharp compet vx-2652h - won't reset from floating decimal to fixed decimals.

After working with calculator set at floating decimal, then moving it to 2 (or any other fixed decimal place) won't reset - it sticks on floating and forces me to enter the decimal.

How to change decimal point

If you want all entries and answers to have two numbers after the decimal, you should have a lever or slide that shows F,6,3,2,1,0. Some also show Add. Set the lever on the 2 or add. F means floating decimal. the others indicate how many numbers after the decimal.

I want to set the decimal place without using the decimal key--example: hit the 1234 keys and the shows $12.34

You can select the A (K . A) and then the # of decimal places (F 6 3 2 1 0) you want. So if you want to enter 1234 & it calculates 12.34, this will work.

Sharp EL- M332 caluclator- have a 'O' along top line- can't seem to get rid of it- must have accidentally selected something. It is not showing any decimals.

Hold (C.CE) then whilst holding it press (M+) for approximately a second and it will move one place along in the three settings (F, 2 and 0) F shows full decimals, 2 shows 2 decimal places and 0 as yours is set to now round to the nearest whole number. I have just been sat at my desk trying to work this out as my calculator was too set to '0'. Took me reading the 'DEC DET' text with lines pointing at 'M+' and 'C.CE' to finally crack it!

Hope this helps.

How do i turn off "fix"?

All results are displayed to the FIX setting until you clear the setting by
either pressing [2nd] [FIX] [.] or selecting F (Floating) on the decimal notation menu.
Resetting the calculator also clears the FIX setting.
· After pressing [2nd] [FIX]?, you can select the number of decimal places in two ways:
- Press to move to the number of decimal places you want, and then
press enter, or
- Press the number key that corresponds to the number of decimal places you want.
· FIX affects only the results, not the entry.

I have done something so the calculator is only displaying whole numbers and will not show anything after the decimal point. Thanks!

The floating point number display (FIX) is set to zero decimal digits. All your. numbers with decimal parts are rounded.
Look for a key that says [FIX]. Press it and enter a number say3 If I guessed right (Sharp makes numerous calculators) your numbers will show 3 decimal digits.

If there is no such key look for a [MODE] Button. Press the button. If you have a new screen with differents choices look for Format, Float,
On some older calculators there is a table below the display. At the left of the table one finds MODE--> or -->MODE
If it says there Mode DEG:4 that means to have angles in degrees you enter [MODE][4].

I think I exhausted all possibilities. Without you model number, I cannot do more.

Hope it helps.

From the manual:

Numbers of decimal digits of calculation results can be specified by pressing [C-CE] twice, then press [C-CE]and [M+] simultaneously.
The decimal digit assignment will appear as “F” (for “floating point”), “2” or “0” on the LCD. (The default is “F”.)
Press and hold [C-CE] and [M+] until the symbol changes.
