But for me, this reference to the official website LinksysbyCisco.com does not help. I went there already and it only has 'drivers'. Well I'm not sure what a driver is but I downloaded it, unzipped it, and it does not result in an installation program or any instructions what to do.
While traveling, my linksys WPC54G was acting up on my Lattitude with XP. I decided to uninstall the program but had no disc to reinstall. Then when re-inserting the card, my Installation Wizard automatically 'detected new software' and asked to search the internet. So I found another internet cafe using LAN connections, again inserted the wireless card, and the Wizard again asked to search for install program. I clicked Yes. This took so long that I wondered whether it was hung up, and did something else. When I went back to the Wizard window, it said that it was already successfully installed!
So that's where I am now. Not yet tested this new installation. I was hoping also to find a 'download' install program to use again without having to connect to the internet. Searched Google for: linksys WPC54G installation download linksys WPC54G installation download -driver
But all I find are... drivers... drivers... drivers... Finally came here and still... more drivers... Well maybe that is all I need to 'install' if only I knew how to use it... but... LinksysbyCisco.com certainly does not tell me this...!
Well maybe whatever the Installation Wizard did is the best option. Or maybe i will find a wireless internet cafe with somebody who knows something (unlike the last one). Wish me luck.

i have acer travelmate 290 laptop, recently I formated my laptop and I installed windows xp home edition on it, every thing works fine after I installed the operating system with my acer recovery disk, but when i switch on my wireless button it gives blue screen and immediatly restart the laptop. i tried uninstalled and installed the wireless drivers no luck.
either download the computers network driver on another computer and put them on a disk or usb drive and copy them over or pop in a network card that you have the disk for and download the driver that way.
Not a real solution as in a problematic way. I was hoing for an answer to my question about downloading the setup files from the net but this other person is posting the disk to me. Thanks for your response.
Thank you Greg.
