SOURCE: hp wireless mouse model #m971au pointer stopped working

Make sure your batteries are good and then, Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch. Hope this helps you. Bud

SOURCE: Flashing red light

Most wireless mice will hibernate after a short period of inactivity. If something bumps the desk or moves the mouse it will start scanning again. If you don't like the light, you could try a laser mouse (no red LED flashing).

SOURCE: Mouse doesn't work

LOOK FOR A BUTTON TO RESET THE MOUSE AND THE USB CONNECT SHOULD ALSO HAVE A RESET SWITCH ON THE USB CONNECT YOU NEED TO PUSH BOTH AT THE SAME IME SO THE CAN GET INSINK OR THE CHANNEL TO SET. SOME TIMES THE MOUSE HAS TO BE TAKEN APART AND CLEANED JUST LIKE THE OLD MOUSE BALL ONE, AND RESET THE MOUSE SETTING IN CONTROL PANAL, UPDATE DRIVE MAY ALSO HELP IF THERE IS ANY NEW FIXS

ROD

PS SOME TIMES THE LEAD TO THE BATTARY CONNECTION NEED THE THE SPRING PULLED OUT A LITTLE OR THE OTHER END WITH METAL TAB ON IT NEEDS PULLED OUT BECAUSE THE PLAY IN THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT IS LOOSE AND THE CONNECTION IS INTERMITTING A VOLTAGE CHANGE AND CAUSES THE MOUSE TO LOOSE ITS SIGNAL TO THE TRANSMITTER OR SET FREQANCES.

SOURCE: the cursor on my laser wireless mouse won't move

You need to sync the mouse with the USB receiver. They'll be a similar button on the receiver. Push both at the same time.

Logik wireless mouse

1. Make sure the mouse is fully charged. The underside should have a red flickering light if it is working properly. If not you need to change the batteries.

2. Plug the USB dongle into the computer. The blue light should light up and flash rapidly as you move the mouse around. If it still doesn't work you need to re-sync the mouse with the dongle.

Turn the mouse off and back on again. Hold it near the USB dongle.
Push the blue button on the dongle. It should flash steadily. Push the reset button on the bottom of the mouse. The blue light on the dongle should start flashing rapidly and your mouse should now work.

If its a logitech I would definitely encourage you to go to logitech.com and download the software for your devices. Logitech has excellent mice and with their software installed they run real well.

My case logic mouse does not show up in the "find devices" area. batteries are brand new. I just want it to work.

I tried searching case logic's site for support for this mouse...but to no avail. Apparently this was a hit and run product they never looked back on. Anyways, I found a few answers from other users on the net. Here's one such solution I could glean. Hope it helps:
1) Locate the 'reset' button on the bottom of the mouse. (Tiny little black button on ours...)

2) Plug in the USB receiver. The blue LED button should light steadily.

3) Turn on the mouse. Hold it near the USB receiver.

4) Push the blue LED button on the receiver, and as it begins flashing slowly, push the reset button on the bottom of the mouse. This should synchronize the mouse and the USB receiver within moments.

5) If the blue LED button on the USB receiver begins flashing very rapidly, the mouse and the USB receiver are communicating, and the mouse should begin to work.

If it does not, the battery in the mouse may need to be removed and replaced, then the whole process started again...

If it works, you'll probably have to go into Mouse Properties in your Device Manager and adjust the response of the mouse, because the default settings are often positively crazy sensitive!

hehe, sorry it made me giggle. When you pick up an optical mouse it blinks trying to establish a reading on the surface it's on. Since it's in mid air and there is no surface, it will continually blink until you put it down.

This definately sounds like dirt over the optical lense (given that you are certain the batteries are "good" not simply "unused"). Take a paint brush with about 150 bristles and thuroughly clean inside the hole on the bottom of the mouse that emits the light.

This can happen when the battery's are starting to die. Replace the batteries and then test the device again.

Changed battery and still does not work - hear pinging in computer

There are buttons on the transmitter/receiver and the mouse(small red on bottom). Turn off the mouse. Plug in the USB Tx/Rx and hold down the button. Then press the red button on the mouse and hold for one second. Do this until the rapidly flashing light on the Tx/Rx slows down. The unit's frequencies are then encoded/decode and can communicate.
