Laptop won't start up at all

Toshiba Laptop Won't power on at all, the power AC and the battery lights will show up, on the front but when I push the Power Button, it won't start up at all, and both those lights "go out." Does this mean a trip to a laptop repair center?

Gave up on the Toshiba, A305 model laptop, found out it was not a power button problem, it had a faulty Motherboard, so off to a Recycle bin it's going, thank you very much for everyone's help here though (smiles). I took it into a repair shop and they said the Motherboard was toast, and there was no replacement one's that could be purchased at all.

Computer does not boot up The problem maybe the RAM, it is faulty or just needs reseating to make proper electrical contact.
Reseat the RAM and then boot up your laptop. If it still does not boot up then remove the RAM module/s and take them to your friendly computer repair shop and get them to test the RAM for you. Just like you sometimes need a mechanic to repair your car, sometimes you do need a technician to diagnose and identify the fault or faults on your computer. Not only does a good service technican have the experience to deal with this type of problem, they also have the equipment that allows them to look at things the average computer user can't see, and he has a collection of replacement parts that can be used to quickly test individual components on your computer.

Windows won't start up
? Well, try this

Download Tenorshare Data Recovery from its offical site and install it. Burn it into CD/DVD, or USB flash, put into the computer you need to repair, Bios setting. It can make sure your important data will not lose.
Best of luck

SOURCE: Laptop Toshiba Satellite A200 Model No. PSAF6A-02C01N fail boot

Try removing / swapping / reseating the memory.

Try booting with one stick only, if the top slot doesn't work, try booting the bottom slot. Try both sticks.

Let me know what happens.

SOURCE: My laptop won't turn on,

Hi,
Good day. You can try to do these steps which is usually a normal solution to this kind of issue:
1. Take out the battery of your laptop
2. Remove main supply, or power cord
3. Hold power button down for 30 secs,
4. Put only power supply in or power cord
Note: do not put battery in yet
5. Turn laptop on
6. Put the battery in.

If this will not work you might consider contacting toshiba tech support for laptop for other resolution. Hope this information will be helpful in resolving your issue. Thanks for using fixya and have a great day.

SOURCE: Toshiba Satellite C655-S5082. Won't power

Hi.

Take out the AC power jack and then remove the laptop battery. Plug AC power back in and see if the laptop will turn on. If it turns on let it boot the operating system and then shut down as normal, remove the power cord and reinsert the battery and again see if it will switch on. If it does then there has been a glitch with the battery. If it doesn't then there is a problem with the battery.

If the laptop won't switch on either with or without the battery then there is a possibility that the motherboard has developed a problem.

Good luck.

Toshiba Satellite won't start up when AC plugged in

Try another Cord/Charger to verify the Cord, AC jack. If you plug in the AC cord after starting on battery, does the battery charge? Open Control Panel, Power Options, set to High Performance, Advanced power settings, set Sleep and Hibernate to Never, Adjust Advanced power setting to your preference.

No power

Hello, If the battery won't charge and the laptop won't turn on but the ac adapter works with other laptops, then the problem is the port where you plugin the ac adapter. Some of the laptops has it built in to the motherboard. So you might need to have it repaired by a technician. Or if the laptop is still in warranty, you might need to send it to the manufacturer to have it repaired or replaced. But if the laptop works without the battery, or it will turn on but the battery indicator is not lighting up, you're facing one of these problems. 1. The battery itself is dead. 2. the battery bay is loose 3. the battery itself is loose Hope this helps

Toshiba satellite l305d-s5934 Won't charge battery dont power On

POWER SUPPLY & BATTERY PROBLEM
If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.Whenyou connect the power adapter into the laptop, does the power LED lightup? If not then -The battery adapter or the adapter's power lead or the laptop's powersocket could be faulty.Check power adapter's DCplug that connects into the laptop power socket with a multi-meter, the voltageshould be slightly higher than the voltage that is printed on the label on thebottom of the adapter. If the voltage is zero or way below the voltage that isprinted on the label then the power adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced. If the adapter is OK thenconnect it to the laptop and power it up, then look at the power/batterycharging LED light and wriggle the power plug in the laptop's powersocket. If the power/battery LED light flashes and in a certain position thisLED light stays firm, then the power socket is either faulty or it has a drysolder joint where it is connected to the motherboard. This can be repaired but itrequires the laptop to be completely dismantled to get at this power socket andrepair. If you cannot DIY then I suggest you get a quote first.
