Remove the battery and check the voltage on the battery, if low try to JUMP charge, if not replace. Also check the charging voltage with the adaptor connected to the latptop. If there is no voltage then the charger must be checked.
However if the battery and adapter seems good then the mother board is a suspect and it is ideal to get the help of Tosibha service for estimation.

I assume there is a specific reason that you mentioned the DVD drive won't open. Is it because there is a disk in it that you are trying to remove, and you can't because the laptop won't boot? You can open the DVD drive with a pin or paperclip. There is a little hole in the drive near the eject or open button. Insert a small pin or paperclip straight into that hole and push. It should pop open.

Its not turing on

Hi,

I think you can try this step and see if it makes your laptop work.

1. Unplug the AC adapter and Remove the Battery
2. Press and Hold the Power Button for 30 secs. without the battery and ac adapter
3. Put it all back in and see if the machine will work.

If happened that its not working It could be one of the Hardware that's having a problem. It could be the Memory, Hard Drive, CPU or the Motherboard. Hope it helps.

Toshiba Satellite Laptop screen went black

Hello,

You may try this. Unplug ac adapter and remove the battery out. While the laptop is off and without the power sources, hold the power button 10 secs. Put the power sources back and turn it ON.

Laptop won't switch on although blue power light on is showing power is getting to the machine

Check the power adaptor led is not flashing. Flashing Adaptor LED indicates fault with laptop charging circuit / powerboard

If it will not boot on battery, and you know the adaptor to be good, the issue lies with the motherboard.
Sometimes, removing the battery, and unplugging, pressing the power button and holding it for 30 secs, replacing the adaptor only will allow it to boot up, but this will only work if the motherboard is not damaged r the CPU fan has not failed.

remove the battery, unplug the ac adapter and press and hold the power button for about 15-20 sec to drain power. expect no response since we're just draining the power. then put back in the battery and ac, and try to turn pc on. if nothing works, update your BIOS.
