There is a function key on one of the f keys. Should look like 2 boxes or something similar. While it's hooked up press the fn key and the f key that has the boxes and it will switch your display to the tv.
Press either DEL or F2 key during POST, then you should go into BIOS menu. Find in the last tab, select and enter 'load bios as default setting'..save and exit.
Did you try "Cycling" through the video out presets? Hold down the "Fn" key and tap the F4 key, do it slowly to give the computer time to react to the input. You should see it cycle through the available presets. If not, you may have to get into the display settings and "Add" the tv as an external monitor.
s video is the channel you see when you select input on your tv and it shows the device you hooked up to the svideo port on your tv..its different for every tv. ex: You plug in you dvd player to svidoe on your tv..select your input till you see what the dvd player is playing.
Look at the function keys (F1 to F12) in your computer since there is a shortcut key in it. Look for a key with an icon resembling like a TV and a PC Screen with a slash. It's like TV/Monitor icon.
Now with the PC (laptop?) hooked with the TV, (the tv showing no signal), hold down the FN key and press that function key with the TV/Monitor icon.
dont have to change any...connect s-video lead and press fn + the f key that has an icon of monitor on it (little square box)
for instance mine is f2 so I would press fn +f2 (not fn then f2 ,,fn and f2 together)
for most hp the f key is f4...
so you press togethher once and you have signal to tv ..press again you have signal on tv and pc press again and its back to pc only
