Try viewing a movie without any internet connection. if you can view movie without internet connection, i suspect that your computer is infected with a virus. install an antivirus to fix the problem. i suggest avast home its free. and after it is installed have it fully scanned and dont interrupt it while scanning to kill all viruses.

A generic question about a video card - I currently have a nvidia fx5200 (I think that's it) 256MB memory on the card and I installed a fan cooler for it. I just bought a 20" lcd Monitor, but when...

Viewing movies on a computer is not really just based on how big is the video card RAM. Try watching a high resolution movie or from an original DVD. It should not pixillate as long as the file is supported and the your monitor can project clearly 256RAM is sufficient.
But if your a gamer and want a higher resolution, that is the only time you'll need not just the RAM but also the speed. If your looking for an upgrade and your not doing multitasking on you computer you should settle on 256 to 512MB but with a faster RAM DDR5.

The problem started a couple of days ago. My laptop would freeze (blue screen in windows freeze in ubuntu) every now and then. Specially when I was watching movies. Restarting the system would not help...

cleaning you laptop will probably solved the problem, disassemble your unit then if you have blower try blow all the dashes all over it and remove memory card, clean it with an eraser. also look for the fan of your laptop check if its working if its not you must replace it. please send me a comment after you done all of this and you still have a problem.

Screen goes totally black

It sounds like one of your ram chips is having a problem and needs to be replaced. If not then your motherboard is having a problem accessing both slots and this indicates a bios issue. Try downloading a bios upgrade for your motherboard if replacing the chips doesn't help as this cannot create some serious issues if you do it wrong. I would suggest you get a single 512 or 1gb ram chip instead of 1 or 2 256 chips as the price difference is minimal. Hope this helps.

Screen goes blank

is it possible for you to test the card in another omputer ? like a friends or something ?

sound as if your card may be overheating...hence the need to restart the PC...normally if the card is faulty it will not work at all..

take the side over off your PC and use a normal room fan to blow air into your box... if everything now works fine you need more fans to extract heat out of you system...

Computer restart issue when graphics card attached.

U PC IS GETTING OVERHEATED AND THEREFORE THE SYSTEM IS NOT STARTING TO PREVENT ANY DAMAGE TO HARDWARE.DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE FROM THE INTERNET BY THE NAME EVEREST AFTER INSTALLING PERFORM A STABITY TEST ON URPC.IF DURING THE STABILITY TEST UR PC FREEZES OR SHUT DOWN WITH A BLUE SCREEN THEN IT IS HAVING A THERMAL ISSUE.THINGS LIKE THIS ALSO HAPPENS BECAUSE OF VIRUS.SCAN UR PC USING A GOOD ANTIVIRUS WITH LATEST VIRUS DEFINATION.DOES UR PC SHUTS DOWN AUTOMATICALLY WHILE WORKING OR UR HAVING A PROBLEM WHILE RESTARTING UR PC.LET ME KNOW.PERFORM THE STABILITY TEST FOR ABOUT 1 HOUR.

Video projection

I recommend searching the internet for a file called fddshow.exe It will install a wider variety of digital decoders which your projector should be able to transfer to the screen.

Druid..

Do you have the chipset driver CD? The driver CD that comes with the motherboard... You should be able to find the VGA driver on that. If you don't, then I am afraid I can do anything much..

No image on tv using video card.

If you open the Radeon software utility, in the advanced screen settings you should be able to set "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor" to on for the TV screen. Then all you have to do is open your video player software and drag its window across to the tv, then maximise it. If you are having trouble doing this, some video player programs, especially dvd players playing dvds will not show the picture on the tv. If you want to watch .avi files then the best free player around at the minute is DivxPlayer - go to http://www.divx.com to download. Hope this helps, please ask again if not :)
