How can I do a rest on this tv? I can't use the remote. I put new batteries in and that didn't help. And now I can't use the keys on the side because it says operation with the control

you have to do it manually on the t.v. using the menu, channel.volume, and input buttons on the side of the T.V.

While the set is turned on, you need to hold the power button until the set shuts off and the led in the middle of the bottom flashes once. Then quickly release the power button and press the vol - and input buttons together along with the power button. Your TV should then turn on and should show you a blue box with the letter K. Now press the vol- and channel- buttons at the same time. You should now be in the service menu. With your remote arrow up until the top line says industry init. Arrow to the right and hit enter. Screen should turn green and say factory init success. I hope this helps you.

All you need to do is unplug your television and plug it back in 2 minutes later. After you plug it in, try to use the remote to turn it back on and see what happens! Good luck to you

If you try a universal remote, such as from cable company or satellite provider and it still does not work with remote, you need an IR receiver module #DUNTKE264FM02 for your tv. this can be found at encompassparts.com and retails for about $22.00
