Mitsubishi WS 65809

The tv suddenly made a buzzing sound and screen and audio slowly went dead. The HV block had been leaking for about a month before (a slight hiss)while the set was fine. The green light stayed on.Error code is 12.We have changed the flyback transformer,HV block and the two convergence ICs all original parts from Mitsubishi, checked all resistors and fuses ,but problem persists. When the screendrives are raised all three colours appear on the screen but with wavy lines and no sound. We have a service manual. Thanks in advance.

The eeprom is IC7C01.Should I order this IC although the set is not starting up at all(green light remains on and circuitboards powered )? How to measure Glow Tension?
    Thanks Arpi.

I have ordered the three IC's.However I was checking the voltages off IC 5A00 around lead 7-9 when there was a 'pop' sound in the vicinity of the middle crt circuit board. Now the set trips after about two seconds and the error code is 23,horizontal deflection failure. Please assist. Thanks.

This question predates my joining Fixya, so I'm just getting to it. Are you still having this problem - and have you tried anything else? If you can update me on the current status of this, I can try to find some information to help you.

TV won't turn on!

If it was arching, It could be the HV Transformer, or the High Voltage Block. It could also be that there is a High Voltage Leak at a Anode Cap on one of the CRTs. Because of the arching issue, I would call a Mitsubishi Professional to diagnose it. If you need help in locating one, call Mitsubishi at 1800-332-2119 and they could help you find one local to you.
I hope this helps,

If your TV is not powering on you probably blew the power supply. These TV are sensitive to power surges. Be sure to use a power strip with power filtering technology (different from a surge protector) costing around $80.00

loose connection.
check for any over heated areas and resolder them specially the convergence IC.This resistor is located in the back edge of the chassis in the board in the right side and it might be hidden by a plastic casing that covers the high voltage transformer. If you are not too familiar with tv service you should seek the help of a servicer.Let Us know how it goes or if you need more information.

2002 65" Mitsu TV with crackling sounds/sudden onset.

Check wiring lead dress==if someone sloppy was in it prior to you,the audio circuit wiring may be picking up some noise. 2)Or,you should check the hi-voltage jumper wire between xformer and hv divider block. It may be arcing. If so,replace the block and the hv jumper.
