1992 aerostar won't move

Had van on highway travelling at 70 mph. Everything seemed perfect and all of a sudden after a couple of hours on the road, stared losing speed. Had lots of smoke coming from underneath . pulled over, came to a complete stop. Got back in started it, put it in gear and top speed with it floored was 5 mph. Went out next mornig, after having it towed, checked tranny fluid after letting it idle for 20 mins. just enough black liquid to show up on dipstick. wont move in any gear.

What does the 15000 mile check up on the 2008 Hyundai Elantra cover?

A complete check-up of the car which should include but not be limited to:
  1. Change the oil (when was the last time you changed it?) Change the oil filter & the air filter (again, when were they changed last?)
  2. Check the coolant and brake fluid
  3. Check the brake pads - inspect all lights including turning signals (for safetys sake)
  4. Check the air pressure in the tires (including your spare tire) Check your car's alignment, this can cause uneven wear on your tires and it will believe it or not contribute to making the trip more exhausting.

Make sure you get a good rest the night/day before you depart. - if you begin to doze off dont hesitate to stop at a rest stop. Dont fight against your body, if you are tired, stop and take a 30 minute power nap, wash your face and drink a cup of coffee before you get back on the road.
Make sure you have a bottle of water in the car and plenty of good music to listen to. - Speed wise I suggest you dont travel at more than 10mph over the speed limit, traveling a little over (up to 10 mph) is tolerated by police, but I strongly sugest going 5 mph over the limit, set the cruise control and enjoy the trip without worrying about potential fines. If you do the math, the difference in time traveled is not so great:
speed limit = 70 mph (just as an example) 1300 miles @ 70 mph = 18 hours 36 minutes 1300 miles @ 75 mph = 17 hours and 20 minutes 1300 miles @ 80 mph = 16 hours 15 minutes the difference between traveling 75 or 80 is only 1 hours and 5 minutes. Not worth risking a fine for

How do i remove the engine of a 1992 ford aerostar van?

How do I remove an engine for a 1992 ford aerostar

Car shuts off while driving. usually while its still moving, I can put it in neutral and restart. In the beginning, it only happened when I hit a bump in the road. Now it just happens.

I had a similar problem. When I was driving on highway with 70 mph, the car suddenly stalled everything went off. I managed to get off the road then I tried to start the car, it did not start. After 5 minutes I tried again and it started running but after several hours it stopped while driving again. Took it to the dealer, had the ignition switch changed and it solved the problem. Costed $300. ( There is also a recall on all 99 Acuras for the switch. Mine had been replaced so they did not treat it as a recall. If yours was never replaced you can have it replaced for free)

High speed vibration

try checking your bearings on both sides. as for your brakes when you change your rotors try changing both of them as well as your pads. i had the same problems and that fixed it. if it persists i would look at your ball joints and then your calipers. good luck.
