Most parts stores have a parts location chart in their computer. If not, coolant temp sensor should be located near the thermostat, screwed into the intake manifold and have two wires. If you find one with 1 wire, that is for the dash cluster not the ECU.

Many possibilties. Any codes set? check EGR, IAC, coil/module, coolant temp sensor, tune up items. Any certain times it fails? Rain, cold, etc?

Do you mean it is on 30 mph or 30 miles?
If you mean 30 mph your speed sensor could be bad. If it not that or its 30 miles your instrument cluster could be bad. I would Get one at a junkyard. For half the price of a new one. Sometimes you can go to eBay Motors and find one close to the original mileage.

No, Motor comes out the top. Remove hood (With a friend you trust) remove all water hoses from engine, remove wiring from top of engine to fuse box on fender (Be careful if clips are a bit stuck), Undo Exhaust at Manifold / Pipe joint ( This will be a challenge, WD-40 and heat will help),
undo transmission bolts ( Support Trans ) then remove torque converter bolts through Stainless access port, Undo Motor mounts, Chain with large bolts bolted into accessory brackets lift slowly in case you missed anything like Ground wires (Be careful with these as they can cause weird problems later in life) Go Slow, Find a good buddy that has done this before buy him a few beers Not an 18 pack!
