HAVE THE SAME FAULT MY UNIT HAS SEEN VERY LITTLE USE & NOW I NEED TO USE IT TO EDIT A VIDEO IT CAN NOT BE USED

  • Anonymous Dec 24, 2008

I also have the flashing blue loading thing going on. I left unit unplugged overnight, then plugged it in. It booted up with the same symptom, but then it reset when I held the power button in for a few seconds, which is how it's supposed to work without unplugging. The hard drive has never been right as it wouldn't shut itself off when through recording...EVER! I have noticed if I engage the hard drive in any way now, the flashing loading thing comes back. I am going to attempt to empty the memory, then never use hard drive again. JVC??

I have the same problem on my unit. Purchased in April 2005, saw little use except for 8 or 10 home movies uploaded. As I'm out of warranty, its been sitting faulty for nearly over a year and I am worried sick on how to recover my precious home videos.

SOURCE: Cyberhome DVD writter not decting DVDs . Getti g a disc error.

HI Johnny,

Any chance someone went near the DVD/VCR and dusted with some Pledge or any kind of dusting spray? It sounds like something has got the DVD driver chip acting crazy. May be a faulty disc tray switch telling the controller the door is opening and closing all the time. If its brand new, do you have an opportunity to take advantage of a warranty claim?

Vhs is stuck in machine. Won't play and won't eject.

There are any number of reasons why it won't play. The loading basket is jammed, the video tape has got tangled up in the mechanical section of the vcr or the loading gears are stripped. Unplug machine and remove top, [screws side and back] if the tape is spewed carefully remove by cutting it and clean tape particles, for any other problem have a technician check it out.

Zenith dvd/vcr model ABV341 DVD WON'T STAY IN TO PLAY...VCR WORKD FINE

If the door does not close either something ( a coin or anything) got inside or there is a issue with the mechanism= alignment or possible bad part in that mechanism that loads and positions the disc.

A suggestion when door opens try to take a quick look inside with a flashlight to see what you can.

DVD stopped working and cannot do setup.

You probably need to reset your DVD/VCR/Combo. Go to www.samsung.com. Go to <Support>. In the search box, type in the model of your DVD/VCR/Combo. Or type in, >how to reset DVD/VCR/Combo<. Each model has different reset method and there are hundreds of models!

853. How To Reset Your Samsung DVD Player STEP 1
STEP 1. DVD Reset List
Samsung DVD players have a built-in reset procedure that resets the DVD player to the factory defaults. You can use the reset procedure to reset settings that don’t work with your TV or to resolve issues such as unit lock up. To run the reset procedure, you press one or more buttons on the front of the DVD player and hold them for at least fifteen seconds. The buttons your press depend on the model you have.
Important: For the reset procedure to work, you must press the buttons on the front of the player, not on the remote control for the player.
Below is a list of all Samsung DVD players and the buttons to press to run the reset procedure.
DVD511 - Stop / Play
DVD611 - Stop / Play
DVD709 - Stop / Play....

Many, many other models follow but cannot be listed here because of this site's text limitations.

Good luck!

Actually, it's an MW24FP3 VCR unresponsive

After Checking Toshiba FAQ, it turns out that the record button must be turned off to do anything, including playback.

DVD Player does not work

General Problems
Player won’t work (locks up)
• Try unplugging the AC power cord and plugging it back in.
• Reset the DVD/VCR: on the front of the unit, press and hold the STANDBY/ON button while you press and hold the STOP button—wait at least 3 seconds
before you release both of the buttons. You’ll need to set up your menu preferences because this Reset Procedure returns the DVD/VCR’s menus to the
factory default settings and also erases the contents of the Disc Library.

JVC DVD PLAYER/VHS COMBO

Besides bounching this off a concrete wall for some satisfaction, try unplugging it for a couple of hours at least four hours and then plug it back in. Wait for it to stop loading and you may be able to watch one movie, two if your lucky before it starts flashing again. I've even sent mine to JVC for repair and got a year out of it but it's flashing again. This JVC item is the biggest piece of junk out there, if you read up on it it's had nothing but problems. Save yourself a lot of headaches and buy a new one and chock it up to experience.
