Recovery discs?

Hello.

From HP Support:

Most HP and Compaq desktop PCs that ship with Windows Vista and XP do not come with recovery discs. Instead, they use a partition on the hard drive. To access a hard drive recovery, turn on the computer and repeatedly press F11 until a recovery window opens. If your computer originally came with Windows XP or earlier, press F10 to enter recovery.

Hope this helps.

Can I add a hard drive to my old hp pavilion 525c which is still running XP and running well?

Best way to do it if you aren't familiar with the internals of a PC is to use an external drive. If you have a drive aleready you can get an external drive case and put your own hard drive into it in about 5 minutes.

How do i remove the hard drive?

Look at pages 4-5 in this service manual courtesy of HP:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00311113.pdf

It shows how to remove all the drives but especially the hard drive.
